I booked my stay at Staybridge Suites in Doral, FL, through Hotels.com and paid in advance for a room with a balcony, kitchen counter, and a separate bedroom. When I arrived, the front desk told me the room I paid for wasn’t available due to leaks from the rain. Instead, they gave me a smaller, downgraded room.
The condition of the hotel was extremely disappointing:
The carpet was stained, and the room looked old and poorly maintained. There was trash in the hallways, damaged walls, and a broken bathroom door. The fitness room had a major leak, and the laundry room was filthy. The pool is shared with the hotel next door—something I was never told in advance.
While the front desk staff tried to help, they admitted many rooms weren’t clean or available. They offered a 50% discount, but the overall experience was awful. If it hadn’t been 4 PM on July 4th, with my family exhausted and options limited, I would have canceled and gone elsewhere.
To make things worse, I spent over an hour on chat with Hotels.com trying to resolve the issue. The hotel wouldn’t help further because I booked through a third party.
This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I will never book through Hotels.com again, and I will absolutely never stay at the Staybridge in Doral, FL. Gross, poorly managed, and not worth the money.
I'm also not sure if the pictures advertised on Hotels.com are accurate of the Staybridge Suites in Miami, Doral. Very misleading...
