Intimate, historic hotel with updated decor and facilities. Quiet room (although the bathroom door was very inconveniently aligned with the sink.) Nonna's restaurant next door had extremely tasty food and excellent service.

Every year, we make a trip to San Antonio to celebrate Día de los Muertos, and without fail, the Fairmount Hotel makes it a truly unforgettable experience. This year, Sarah went above and beyond, making us feel like family. She checked in on us multiple times, ensuring we had everything we needed and more. Her kindness and attention to detail were truly appreciated. The bartender (I wish I could remember her name!) was also wonderful—she took such great care of us and even made sure we had a cozy spot by the bar as we enjoyed a delicious meal from Nonna. The service was impeccable, and we felt so welcomed and pampered throughout our stay. The Fairmount Hotel continues to be our home away from home, and we’ll be returning year after year. Room 312 was just perfect, with beautiful views and all the little touches that make it special. Thank you to the entire team at the Fairmount for another amazing weekend. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

This is such a unique and very nice hotel. There is a lot of history that makes this a wonderful destination. Convenient location, and nice bar and restaurant. Try it, you'll love it!

Too much construction noise. Things were still being remodeled in the bar area and workers were pretty scary!

Lovely hotel in perfect location with an excellent roof top bar. Jennifer and her staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. If you are planning a stay in San Antonio look no further than the Fairmount hotel.

Fantastic hotel and gorgeous room - really it is a suite with a beautiful living room, washroom and separate bedroom! Excellent service and even though there is construction nearby the valet took care of our car and it was an easy registration!

Construction during our stay. Very noisy. Construction workers caused fire alarm at 9:30 pm

The property its self was nice and we would definitely stay again. The construction around the property is annoying, as well as the parking. You either have to pay 35 a night for valet or pay per hour in a parking lot around.

Loved this hotel and absolutely recommend it. There is a ton of construction outside that detracts from its location, but that is the only drawback. It is convenient to the conference center and everything about it is top notch, from the toiletries, a deep bath, tons of hot water, gorgeous bedding, comfortable bed and speedy WIFI. The staff were very kind and helpful and gave me a very late checkout as I had an early evening flight. The restaurant was excellent too, I had lunch on the last afternoon and wish I had known it was so good as I probably would have had at least one dinner there as well.

The Fairmount is an interesting place. The old building has been nicely renovated, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is attentive. The layout is odd, with no real reception or lobby area to speak of. The location is great, close to the River Walk, but construction was going on in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, making access complicated. They had valet set up which was helpful. The rooftop bar and on site restaurant are great amenities.

Highly Recommend!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and it couldn't have been better. Valet parking, a historic hotel with modernized feel, and two bars. One is on the roof top, and one is in the lobby. The bar tendrs/es were perfect as well. They treated us like family! The inlybthing we dodnt get to try were either of the restaurants in the hotel. Next tjme we will try them vecause the menu looked great!

If you haven't you should

Certainly! Here is an I recently had the privilege of staying at Hotel Fairmount and words truly cannot describe the experience. The service was simply unbelievable - every staff member went above and beyond to ensure comfort and satisfaction. The room I stayed in was absolutely unforgettable, with breathtaking views and luxurious amenities that made me feel like royalty. This hotel has truly set a new standard for excellence in hospitality. A stay here is an experience that transcends words - it must be felt to be believed."

Shower drain was so slow, i was quite literally ankle deep in water by the end of my shower. We set the thermastat at 63 like at home(Alaska) and still woke up in a pool of sweat at 0430.

2/10 Poor

Well my husband and I stayed here for Valentines Day. It was over $500 for a single bed room. When we walked in, it immediately felt like a college dorm room. Over priced for what was included, which wasn't much. A shared balcony with door access from our room, a high priced coffee maker, which we didn't use, a mini glass fridge with some drinks, we also didn't use as we brought our own wine. And a card explaining we need to contact front desk for ice, this after my husband went out our room in Search of an ice maker. The bathroom included A gold plated shower which had erratic water temperature and difficult to adjust, when we found warm or cool it immediately went right back to scolding hot. We spent a few hours at the bar, i ordered a cosmo at the bar downstairs which was HORRIBLE, it was watered down and tasted horrible and weak. We did appreciate the fact the young bartender took it off our bill and I replaced it with a decent glass of reasling wine, my husband enjoyed a bourbon and sprite Upside was the hotel and room was quiet although in the middle of down town construction zone. When it came to ordering dinner in our room, it was quick and staff was accommodating to offering extra chairs for our room so my husband and I could both sit at the desk in our room to enjoy our Valentines dinner. Now. The dinner wasn't as good as would be expected from such a high priced hotel. We will not be returning. (Review too long to finish)

Mixed review, overall nice experience

We like our stay. The staff was awesome. We felt Texan hospitality was on display! The double queen suite is designed so you enter into a parlor area, down a short hall is the bedroom, and off the hallway is a bathroom with enclosed toilet area, shower, and sink. Nice private areas, as well as the parlor to entertain, if one chooses. The suite was 61F when we arrived; we wished to turn up the heat to 70F. This proved easy to do, but not lasting. Once the temp was reached the heat shut off: we repeated this when we wanted more heat, including during the night. An access code to lock in a temp would be an improvement. Maybe carpet... The beds are comfortable, with soft tops and firm support, lots of pillows, too. A lighted closet is nice. There was a TV in the bedroom which we did not use. A lamp on that credenza would be a great addition. There were three sconces on the walls opposite. There was no refrigerator, microwave, table, desk, or chairs in the suite. These would be great additions in the parlor. There was a giant TV on a credenza. And a couch bed, which was nice and firm to set on. Renting a suite, we wished to eat in it. That is not possible without a kitchenette space. Most hotels provide a fridge and microwave; guests expect those amenities. We would stay here again, as it was a clean and beautiful hotel. However, either the cost per night or the amenities available, need to be adjusted. Keep your staff, they are excellent!!!
