I hadn't been back here in a number of years but it was always my go-to hotel in Mexico City. I always loved staying here because it's location is prime and the restaurant overlooking the zocalo is still one of my favorites in the area.
We were on the 5th floor and the internet was not all it should have been. We could always get access down in the lobby but they need to do some work done to get a stronger internet signal thoughout the hotel.
The staff is very helpful, there's a coffee machine in the room which I always love seeing but bring your own creamer. Luckily right next door is a great little coffee and pastry shop which is easily accessed starting at 7am.
The Best Western Majestic remains a little colonial gem, with a boutique hotel feel, centrally located and very economical. If you can, try to get a room with a window facing out to the zocalo or to the andador (a bit noisier but worth it) you'll be happy you did.
No, this is not a hotel with rooms that look like every hotel in the states, if you want that go elsewhere..The Majestic has the charm and colonial touches that help you feel like you're in a comfortable home while traveling.
