Sleep Inn Columbia was a pleasant stay. The hotel property itself is fairly clean and secured. It has a bit of age and outdated color schemes, but this is only a 2-star hotel after all. The rooms are comfortable with climate control and very cold A/C, great for SC summers and humidity. The bathroom is small, but functional enough for 1-2 people. The bed is pretty cozy and I slept well all 3 nights. The provided breakfast is lackluster with only a waffle iron, packaged muffins, cereal, microwaveable sausage biscuits, and toast/bagels. The coffee provided is basic; nothing exceptional but nothing that tastes like tar. No flavorings/creamers, just sugars and half & half. Families with gluten allergies should look elsewhere as there were no options except for the bowl of apples or yoplait yogurts. They could drastically improve their stay experience by expanding the breakfast to include some form of eggs and sausage or bacon as well as gluten free selections and a more robust coffee bar.
