The resort was beautiful and clean. Easy access to the beach. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Service of towels by housekeeping was great. There was always towels by the pool. Access the various food options was good.

Wonderful beach - White sands and clear water!!

Loved the ocean view from our room but the room was a bit of tight squeeze even for just the two of us. Pools were refreshing but the grotto pool was almost too cold to enjoy so it made the heated pool crowded at times. Was surprised they didn’t have poolside wait staff for drinks but the bartenders were great…especially Stephanie and Laura. The swim up Grotto needs an actual swim up area that doesn’t require going thru the waterfall. Also, was surprised that everything shuts down by 10p each night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the beach is super clean and relaxing. Enjoyed live music at the beach bar every night.

Nice overall, but cold room

Other than my room, the hotel was really nice. The conference rooms were comfortable. The pool areas and beach were beautiful. My room was just ok. I could see a gap at the bottom of the door. Fortunately, I didn't see any bugs entering the room. There was a stain on one of the towels. I was cold every night, though. I'm from the desert, so I was not happy that the heat could not be turned up past 75 degrees.

The Island Resort, Look at this review!!!

I highly recommend The Island Resort. Plenty for adults and children to here as well as within walking distance. Restaurants, an awesome pier with great dolphin views. Theres the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park within walking distance too. Tf you plan a trip in the busy time of summer then you will love this place. No need to get out in traffic. Plenty to do without driving anywhere. Check it out yourself, look what next door. Oh and the beach. WOW I cant tell you how beautiful the water is. And the white sand. And if you have young kids, they will love the mermaid in the pool here. Top destination for cost as well as convenience.

Great property. Older but updated and very clean. The staff were professional and pleasant. The room was clean and view of the Gulf was amazing! Ate breakfast at the restaurant and the food was fresh and tasty. Location was wonderful too. Would stay there again. Only negative was the loud AC on the balcony.

Pictures aren’t always accurate.

Trip was a getaway for couple days with wife. Got the cheaper room thinking it was nice but unfortunately it was compared to a motel feel. We automatically went to front desk to change rooms in the building closer to ocean. That room was better only bad thing is the bed. View was nice. All in all it’s close to pier and food. Resort could use a renovation. If you want to go with adults it would be best to stay in Destin at a higher end hotel. I’ll take peace and comfort over drinking and partying.

Pleasant and clean

Overall it was a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was clean and spacious, the rainfall shower was a nice surprise, the AC was incredible. The room walls are paper thin, we could hear everything all night long unfortunately. The rooms are ages but well kept. The lobby was bright, spotlessly clean and open, staff were pleasant. We had buffet breakfast included with our stay, the food was nice however not worth the price per person to add it on unfortunately. The biggest disappointment we had was the lack of staff around outside. We had our little girls shoes stolen while we were in the pool. Also during childrens movie night ion the pool, there was a large mixed group of youg unaccompanied children 11-14 in age speaking and yelling very inappropriate slurs to young girls. I feel that had there been staff present this may not have become so bad. The pool area itself was clean and pleasant, access to the beach was very easy and kept very clean in all areas we visited. With the Easter events and the entertainment it was value for the price we paid, unsure if we would return at a higher rate.

Check in was quick and easy with very helpful staff, the resort is gorgeous. They offered fun activities for the whole family. Our room had a fantastic view, was a bit small and had a smell but was clean and comfortable. Overall stay was Excellent and we cant wait to come back.

A Great OG Beach Resort

Great place to stay right on the beautiful beach. It’s an OG beach resort that’s been renovated. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Gulf, which was wonderful. Bring hangers, though as there are just hooks and no closet, not a big deal though. Most comfortable bed we’ve slept on in a long time. Great drinks and food.

Great Girls Trip!!

I stay here alot and this time was somewhat disappointing. Hotel room looked like a hospital room- all white and looked out at the parking lot not worth what I paid for it!! Bill at the end had numerous erroneous and added on charges so beware and check your charges! And don't expect desk staff to help you without an attitude!! Actual resort is stunningly beautiful!!! And we were upgraded with extra charges!!!
