The location of the Belvedere is absolutely a 5, close to many mid-town restaurants/attractions and is an easy 2 blocks from Times Square. Compared to other hotels in the city, the rooms are spacious and the street noise is muffled. The front door staff, especially, are helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: The rooms are in dire need of updating. The furnishings are dated and the bed linens are shabby. The bathroom is un-necessarily cramped with out-dated (and soiled) fixtures, minimal shelf/hook consideration and odd, built in soap dispensers that didn’t all work. The two in-room raised thresholds are something of a tripping hazard. WiFi on the upper floors was spotty and the morning coffee/tea in the lobby was sub-par. I didn’t see anyone at the front desk greet a single guest in the four days we stayed.
