A poor Choice and disappointing hotel.com experien

The hotel had rotten wood outside the room and on the door. The exterior was had peeling paint that could be old lead paint on the wall next to the outdoor furniture. The bath tub had large rusted section on the exterior of the tub. The bench at the foot of the bed had a three inch hole in the seat. The window shutters haven’t been cleaned since Andrew Jackson defeated the British. Out side this room is a large storage of construction supplies.

Location is great! Still in the French Quarter but not where it’s too loud and you can get some peace and quiet. Air conditioner worked a little too well. It was freezing in the room, just a few adjustments and it was all good.

Dilapidation doesnt equal charm

Doors barely stayed closed, had chunks missing from the deadbolt as if it were kicked in. Rats in the ceiling at night and on the porch floors during the day. Tv didn't work, repairman came in and tore all the wires down and then just left and never came back. Bed was disastrously uncomfortable. Clean enough but overpriced for what we got. I understand you can only modernize a 300 year old building so much but it felt more like a relief shelter than a hotel.

Old, not classic.

Staff was nice, but they were out of parking when we arrived right at check in time. The place itself had zero decor, uncovered outlets, a crooked floor, and very old and worn fixtures. Also, roaches. Definitely not the New Orleans charm we were hoping for.

Misleading stay

Woke up to the ceiling leaking water all over the floor. I couldn’t even take a shower before checking out. Plus, they offered me a $11 refund for some fee. I am going to be fighting the charge with my bank. Terrible business.

Girls birthday weekend

The hotel was so authentic and beautiful. The internet was out so we had no television. Everything was very clean the building is very old and you can tell it. The bathroom door would not shut in our room. The pool was so cute and nice. The location is wonderful for all the scenery in Nola.

Not happy

The room smelled like mildew. Tub needs to be regulated. Curtains dirty. Was not satisfied at all. Customer service was nice.

Love it!

This charming little room was very clean, shower was great and the beds are so COMFY! Room is very small (no table or sitting area) but who stays in their room while on vacation! Bathroom was good size and the pools are awesome. You can even smoke by one of the pools which was a plus for us with our coffee in the morning. EVERY staff personal was friendly and easy to talk to. Will stay again for sure!

Poor

This hotel was a disappointment for us. We expected old world charm but got rickety stairs full of leaves, narrow door which was difficult to lock/unlock and bannisters with screws sticking out of them. We struggled to get our cases up to our room with no one to help and the bedroom was small. The bathroom was adequate. No coffee machine in the room but coffee on tap in reception. The pools were small and one of them was full of what looked like brick dust from a building next door that was being renovated. The other one was full of long black hairs so we did not go in either pool.

Great place, but shows age.

Hosts were great, friendly and accommodating. Will return, BUT they need to address the lack of a phone in the room to call front desk for needs and safety issues in bathroom such as no handrail in the shower which seniors need. Some neglect was visible with torn shower curtain loops and loose floor tiles as you step out of the tub. Breakfast or eating recommendations would be helpful in the room as the internet was very slow and open to the public, making usage unsecure.
