Excellent staff and beautiful beachfront location, with just 16 very nice rooms! Breakfasts at the beachfront restaurant/bar were tasty and cooked to order. Our balcony had a generously sized daybed and very clean plunge pool, heated in the evenings. The hotel is very good about providing clean drinking water in the room -- both cold in the fridge and at room temperature on the counter.

Hotel Ma'xanab is a excellent quiet hotel where guest come for a peaceful retreat, excellent food and incredibly attentive service. The staff make the hotel what it is - they ensure guests are comfortable, informed and happy throughout their stay. From the front desk to the waiters, every staff member is positive and looking out for your best interests. Jose and Mario were incredible. By day 2, I’d have a coffee served to me, before I even sat down, just the way I ordered it the day before. And Mario was particularly helpful, checking in on us every hour and providing suggestions on where to spend our time. Trust the staff to steer you in the right direction. The property is small, yet breathtaking, with large rooms nestled in a jungle setting. My room had an outdoor shower, and my fridge was stocked daily with complimentary cold water, cookies and nuts. The gym was tiny but had enough free weights and a pull up bar to make for a good workout. I loved that there was no need to wake up early to reserve beach chairs. This hotel ensures guests are a priority and help set up our beach chairs, umbrellas and towels daily. The only negatives -- the general expense of Tulum and the treacherous walk from the hotel to the nightlife. No sidewalks, little lighting and too many vehicles. Tulum is expensive with its boho-chic vibe and night scene. Dinners and drinks were more expensive here than Toronto. So come prepared to spend if you like to shop or eat well.

We really like this hotel in terms of cleaning and and the property conditions in general. However we really disappointing with the amount of noise at night coming into our room from the traffic on the main street and we re not being able to sleep because of that. Staff didnt do anything to help us or move to another room with less noise since they have those available unless we pay more for.

Hotel Ma'xanab is a charming boutique hotel with a spectacular beachfront. The rooms in particular are lovely - large and stylishly fit out; ours came with a plant-filled terrace and plunge pool. The real stand-out about this hotel, however, is the staff. They are exceedingly accommodating and knowledgeable. Particular shout-outs to Jose, Milo, Diego and the rest of the reception staff. We would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed for a week and loved this property! The rooms were clean and very comfortable and our beach view superb! The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. They recommended many restaurants that were all fantastic!

We had the best stay at Ma'xanab in December 2024! The next time we visit Tulum, we would not even think of staying anywhere else... seriously! We stayed for 8 nights, and every morning enjoyed a fresh breakfast that was included in our stay at the hotel. We spent many days on the beach, where we got beach-side food and drink service. The ceviche on their menu was the best we have ever tasted. All of the staff members were incredibly friendly, and helpful in coordinating our different activities during our stay. Our room was beautiful, and so comfortable. The beds were beyond comfortable, and every night we slept so peacefully! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, and comfortable place to stay, Hotel Ma'xanab is THE place. We were very sad to leave this beach-side paradise.

Der Wettergott hat einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht und uns einen enttäuschenden Aufenthalt beschert :) kein Regen aber dafür sturmartige Winde. Konten den Jacuzzi im Zimmer und den Pool gar nicht nutzen geschweige denn das Meer. Wir hatten das Beach Zimmer Nr. 2 mit direktem Blick aufs Meer und Pool. Das Hotel ist schon super und würde gerne zurück kommen.

The team at the Mx'axanab were fantastic and made our stay in mid November 2024 (10 days) very enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location, is modern in design but with a nod to Mayan culture, and feel like a high end experience. The food and drinks were good quality and reasonable priced when compared to the very high prices on the main restaurant strip. Sunbeds were always available, the beach was immaculate and it was always enjoyable walking on the beach in either direction. The hotel was very quiet at night which was appreciated due to the party atmosphere 10 minutes walk away. The team at the hotel really made the whole trip special, from the front desk team, to the beach and restaurant teams - calling out a few superstars - Mario, Milo, Luis, Luis and Hermelindo.
