I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dallas. The condition of the bathroom was unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one under the Hilton name.
• Cleanliness: The bathtub was filthy, with peeling finish, mold and mildew in the corners, and an overall smell of dampness throughout the room. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, which made the odor worse.
• Safety: I stepped on a random screw that had come loose and was lying on the bathroom floor – barefoot. This is a major safety hazard and should never happen in a guestroom.
• Functionality: The shower did not drain properly, leaving me standing in several inches of water. The entire experience felt unsanitary and unsafe.
• Overall Condition: The bathroom fixtures were rusty, the caulking was black and peeling, and the room smelled strongly of mold and mildew.
I expected better from a DoubleTree property. This was not just uncomfortable, but a health and safety concern. I will be contacting management directly about this experience, as the room should have been taken out of service until properly cleaned, repaired, and ventilated.
