This is one of Delhi’s iconic legacy hotels, and no doubt a great place to stay. The staff is excellent. I stayed in a junior suite which was spacious, but signs of age are starting to show. The rooms feel dated—for example, the shower stall lacks a handheld option.
Renovation work next to my room was a bit disruptive, though it’s likely a sign the hotel is modernizing its rooms. Breakfast involved a 5–15 minute wait each day, which seems to have become standard in such hotels—I had a similar experience at the Taj. On the plus side, they did offer alternative breakfast venues.
Bukhara, the famous in-house restaurant, is still very good, but its once-unique appeal has diminished as excellent North Indian/tandoori options, both old and new, have become more widely available in Delhi.
