I chose this hotel simply because it was near Kyoto Station and affordable, and did not really check the facilities closely. WOW! I was delighted to learn that they have a spa/bath on site. The room was also very, very comfortable - beds that were easy to sleep in, good lighting, strong WiFi, and a beautiful bathroom. There is a breakfast buffet if you choose to pay for it, and the selections are widely varied and delicious -- some, traditional Japanese items (rice, miso soup, fish dishes, pickles) and some Western-style (pastries, cereal, fruit salad, yogurt).
The staff was also splendidly professional and accommodated all of our needs, even when it was difficult for them. Our group had 19 people, and we were a little disorganized when we arrived, but they handled our check-in with great patience. One member in our group also cannot take elevators due to chronic migraines, and although the staircase was not typically used by guests, the staff assisted us in getting access to it. Their professionalism and kindness was excellent.
