My family and I stayed at Villa Stone in Čatrnja, Rakovica for one night while visiting Plitvice National Park, and I honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer. From the moment we arrived—late in the evening and in the rain—we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Mate, the host. Mate went above and beyond. Not only did he help us get settled in after our long travel day, but he also cooked us a full homemade dinner, which was a truly generous and memorable gesture. His kindness made us feel less like hotel guests and more like family. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It felt like a true countryside retreat. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, with cows and sheep nearby, which kept our children completely entertained. If you're heading to Plitvice, do yourself a favor and stay here. Between the hospitality, the comfort, and the charm of the location, Villa Stone is easily one of the best places we've stayed on our trip. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

My only recommendation, and I’m not sure if this can be done through Expedia app, is clarify that you do want breakfast in the morning. I did not see the option to do that but they were able to accommodate us so, you might want to clarify w/ them at check in.

Gorgeous accommodation with super comfy beds

Wonderful stay at Villa Stone. Everything was straightforward and the host was very welcoming and genuinely friendly. The room was large and the beds incredibly comfortable. We made use of the pool which was much needed during the hot weather. Our only regret was not staying longer. Would highly recommend.
