2/10 Poor

Avoid this hotel. The pictures on the website DO NOT represent what the condition of the hotel is currently. It is very run down and the only reason we stayed a second night was because I was sick all day the 1st day. The bathroom water pressure is none existent, we weren’t given a wifi password, no toilet paper, you need to turn on a switch for hot water which we also weren’t told about. This is a terrible rundown place and not worth the price they charge. We went to a different hotel in Hanoi for the same price -don’t settle for this. There are many nicer places to stay in Hanoi for the same price. Don’t go here. Seriously . The fellow at the desk is very pleasant. The hotel is difficult to find and the Grab drivers search for it because the hotel is really a travel agency with a set of back stairs (no elevator to go up 3 or more flights of very narrow stairs) to some very dumpy rooms. Marks on the walls. The ceiling light had been removed and wires Left dangling as well as the light on the wall removed with wires dangling. Worst place we stayed in our 5 week Southeast Asia trip.

Sent us to the top floor. Hard to climb the stairs but changed to 2nd floor after my complaint Towels were rags Bathroom faucet not working due to calcium buildup No shower curtain or such to keep water contained No breakfast as promised Noisy construction next door at 645 am Bed was already exhausted no foam just wire spring feeling Ratings said very good but this was completely wrong Rating should be poor Seems they might have had better rooms there but maybe only for the locals ! 😡 Was cheap but considering where it is ( Vietnam) I’ve seen much better for less !

Very affordable hotel with a great location. The staff were awesome and even allowed us some flexibility with our booking. They also gave us a great deal on a Halong Bay cruise.

Very noisy building and surroundings. Construction noise was very loud during the day, and the door did not stop sound from inside the building as it did not cover the frame. Staff were friendly. Works for a place to (sort of) sleep but that's it. Couldn't stay in the room during the day due to the noise. Could feel the springs in the bed, uncomfortable.

The staff are really lovely here. Although the hotel is a little far away from shopping there are loads of cafes and yummy restaurants around. We only stayed for one night but I would really recommend this place as it is clean, tidy and super affordable. They were also generous with water which is a plus!

This is a great value accommodation for the old quarter - close to all the attractions. The owner is really friendly and we had the best breakfasts in Vietnam while we were there. Lots of tasty fresh fruits and delicious baguette with tea/coffee. Very filling! If you’re vegetarian make sure you tell him in advance. He is happy to arrange this and tries hard to keep his guests happy.

The location was great! I stayed another hotel first 2 nights. Panda Hotel is lots better. Only problem is no lift. I stayed at 6th floor. There were free fruit on the reception desk. That was very nice.

8/10 Very good

Budget hotel. Very welcoming, bit too dated.
It’s a budget hotel. The location is excellent, the guy Ming who runs the hotel is so helpful and friendly. He gave us bottled water and free fruit each day. The rooms are run down, basic and the bathroom was not the cleanest however it worked for us. I was in the 6th floor with no elevator so not suitable for everyone but i saw it as a daily challenge.

6/10 Good

At a prime location in the old quarters area of Hanoi! On the weekends, the area is blocked to cars (lake Hoan Kiem Beer St are w/in walking distance). It’s difficult for taxis to pick up at the hotel entrance (ask the employee at the front to call a taxi if you don’t have a VN #/sim). Taxis often pick up at the corner on the left when you exit. A lot of great restaurants/cafes nearby, I didn’t get a chance to visit many, but they seem to be open during normal business hours unlike Saigon. Facilities of the hotel itself disappointing. This hotel is perfect if you only need a place to rest. It’s an old building so no elevator staircase is narrow/steep. The doors are opened w/ keys, and so AC/laptops being charged can technically be left on. Though clean, towels/bedding need updating as there are stains and holes. Electric kettle, toothbrushes, a bureau/closet and an old mini fridge available. AC works well, Hanoi is still humid though the weather is nice/cool. No windows in small rooms. Mixed feelings on customer service. The driver that picked us up from the airport was very patient, my international flight had been delayed but I think the hotel only told him about the people in my group that were arriving domestic. They messaged me on the expedia app and responded fast. When we arrived late at night, our room for 3 was booked so I slept on the floor of a room for 2, not sure if it was Expedia’s fault or the hotel’s. We didn’t end up booking any tours with them.

It was a terrible and unfortunate experience. We couldn't enter Vietnam due to some issue in visa. But the hotel did not refund us, rather took all 3 nights payments. It was simply unfair. We communicated with Expedia team and they said they're working on the matter with the hotel. Let's see what comes up. What the hotel did was so unprofessional and unfair. Hopefully they'll understand this. Hopefully Expedia will also be able to help us get the refund. We may post update again here. For now, our experience is terrible with this hotel.

Based on the (very cheap) price, I knew this was not going to be a 5 star hotel but the facilities were good enough for the super cheap price. But most of all the owner (?) was sooooo helpful and so friendly. I had booked several trips online but he ended up helping me rebook for WAY cheaper. I really appreciated him :) If you want a super boojie stay, this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for a budget place with kind and super helpful worker - then this place is for you :)

First off:. The owners are very kind and helpful. The location is great. The challenge comes with the facility. I was there two different days and had different rooms. The first room was covered in dust and had no toilet paper. The second room wasn't as dusty. The rooms are in serious need of some updating. Walls, bathroom fixture The place can be very loud. Not from the traffic outside but from people talking. The place is an echo chamber. Both beds were very comfortable.
