6/10 Okay

The owner was very friendly. The breakfast was very simple but adequate. No ac in the room but the fan helped. Bbq on the property came in very handy to make our supper. The room we stayed in was dated but everything worked. The yellow tub was very retro. Lots of towels, wash clothes, soap and shampoo

2/10 Terrible

We were booked to stay at the NovaStar hotel for five nights and wanted a room with easy access for big bags and some food prep facilities. We arrived very late in the night after driving from the city and found the room to have cobwebs, furniture covered in dust, the bathtub was leaking, moldy and covered in hair, plus there was a tear in the window covering and without blinds or curtains it was possible to see directly into the bathroom from the walkway. There was a strong odor of cologne or cleaning supplies, the lights flickered and while blackout curtains were in one window the other had just a thin blind so the lights from the parking lot and exterior were very bright inside. My daughter and felt both unsafe and unclean in the room but the staff available was not able to do anything with the reservation. The bed appeared clean and due to the late hour we stayed the night. I awoke the next morning with my eyes almost sealed shut due to allergies and the amount of dust. (Not seasonal allergies as this did not occur once we moved locations) we left at 6:30 in the morning and again staff on site told me that they could not change the reservation. I called the number provided and spoke with multiple people advising of the unacceptable state of the room and requested the remainder of the reservation to be cancelled and refunded (since I had paid for the entire visit directly through the hotel). After much back and forth the staff advised me that they would not offer

Quaint little Inn for our night's stay. Staff we're exceptionally friendly and eager to help.
James, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Won’t stay again.

The service wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great. Talked to me through the ring camera, when I checked in and out.. wasn’t worth $150 for one night. Very outdated. Not the cleanest. Mold in the bathroom, it’ll do if you’re in a pinch. Likely wouldn’t stay again.
Mackenzie, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

This is an older facility but it was comfortable and great for our family. We all enjoyed the walking trail behind the motel (trans canada trail, goes for miles and miles, and always dear on the trail) and the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Heather, 4-night trip

6/10 Okay

Low key basics near Yarmouth's ferry terminal

Low key no frills comfort near The Cat Ferry terminal in Yarmouth. Shows its age with a few cracked floor tiles, but the room was quiet and comfy after a long drive and ferry trip.

Looks absolutely gorgeous on the outside. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This is a very old motel very dated and the room smell musty need some major renovations on the inside.
Randy, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Our kitchenette room was very spacious and we looked out on to the beautiful lake. We had table and chairs on the deck which was nice to sit at and have a glass of wine before going to dinner. There was no ac and the room became very hot during the day. Only 2 tiny windows were avaible to open and only one would open. The screen had a fist sized hole in it. There was a very old style box fan which did not deal with the heat in the room.It was a 50's style room which they had attempted to update. There were only 2 lamps in the room which provided inadequate light. I had to dust the room since it had not been dusted. Our room was never vacuumed or the bathroom cleaned during our 6 day stay. The kitchen sink didn't have a dishcloth or tea towel when we arrived. Eventually we received 2 dish cloths, no tea towel. We eventually received a towel bath mat, none the first day. There was no rubber bath mat and no grab bars for the tub. There was a new white toilet in the bathroom and the sink and tub were a weird color green( not avocado) from some distant era. Luckily there were new taps at the sink and a new shower fixture with good water pressure. All in all, we loved the location and the size of the suite but otherwise it was a bust! Definitely not worth $170 a night. Even on cool days the suite was sweltering. The old fashioned 50's style windows need replacing.
