Great Stay
This is a small hotel. Don't go into it expecting the Hilton and you will have a great time and a great stay. You walk out of the hotel doors directly onto the beach.

2/10 Poor

Noisy!
We stayed here as an alternative to Scrub Island where we had friend staying. Our room was on the front of the building (there are only 4 rooms) and faced the "beach." We thought it was great until the band at the restaurant started playing at about 9:00 p.m. The stage was about 30 feet from our room! They played until 11:30, and there was no sleeping until they were finished. The building where the room are is run down and looks like it was recently converted into what they call the guest house. We didn't expect a lot given the price compared to the prices on Scrub Island, but we were still disappointed. The room was not comfortable. My boyfriend ran out of hot water both mornings we were there. Even for just a place to sleep, it was below acceptable.

2/10 Poor

Shabby, shabby. And no hot water!
The photos on Expedia look great, but it's not what you see when you show up. That must be why they are dark! The room was hot all night. Our bed was horrible! In the morning we had no hot water. There was sand on the tile floor. The bathroom was a wreck. There was no manager to be found! It's cheap, but there's a reason why! It was a shabby place. If we had another option, we would have left.

2/10 Poor

Poor in all Respects
This is a four-room property we booked for our last night on Tortola. It's near to the airport (walking distance), so we booked it for convenience. We occupied three of the four rooms of the property. The good: The hotel is convenient to the airport. There is one restaurant that shares the same property as the hotel (and I believe the same owners) called the Loose Mongoose. It's a cute beach-side place with pretty good food. The rooms did have air conditioning that somewhat cooled the rooms. The bad: The Loose Mongoose has entertainment on the weekends and sometime during the weeknights. That entertainment consists of a DJ or a band. Speakers are located about 50 feet from the windows of the rooms. The night we were there, entertainment went until 11:30 p.m. Great if you want to party. Not if you want to sleep. The rooms are quite shabby. The dark photos misrepresent the actual appearance. The mattresses in two of the rooms we had were old and very soft (bowed in the middle). The third room had two double beds, and those mattresses were fine. Old, non-matching furniture fills the spaces. There are no chairs in the rooms, or anywhere to sit down. The rooms are also void of TVs, but do have small fridges. All have windows that are made of slats that tip in to open the window. None of the windows in the two rooms I checked functioned. They were partially open always. Toilet paper is crammed in spaces between the window and the frame.

If you wanted to use WIFI you had to stay in the lobby area where there is no AC. This is a place to sleep. 2 star stay. You can see right through the doors. (Come on put in SOLID doors)

Very nice guest house with very friendly staff
A very nice guesthouse with very friendly staff especially Erica who was so helpful when we arrived. The room was perfect, very big and clean with a lovely bathroom. We also had an absolutely delicious meal in the restaurant attached to the guest house. The guest house is also very convieniently located close to the beef island airport.

barefoot basic rooms
bare bones, perfect location behind the airport and on the beach. Perfect last night to unwind. You can arrive and go barefoot to bars, beaches, shops....approx 5 min walk to EIS airport. Nothing fancy and breakfast is no longer included. I have been staying here over the last ten years. Can't wait to go back.

Nice but major screw-up between hotels.com and the
Our stay at the Beef Island Guest House did not start out well. Thanks to either hotel.com or the hotel, the first night we arrived, we were told that hotels.com had made a mistake and guaranteed us a room that they did not have. They told us that this happened all the time so we were forced to get a different hotel room the first night. The guest house called and got us a room at another hotel, which unfortunately meant an additional $20 cab ride across town. This hotel folks, was horrible. It had beautiful landscaping but the rooms had wiring sticking out of the walls, loose outlets, no coffee maker... We did end up getting into our hotel room the next evening and they were very apologetic which was fine, but we were out the extra money for a cab and extra money for a different hotel room. Don't know who to blame here but I will never use hotels.com again or stay at this hotel. They are very nice people and very accommodating but it's just not worth it. The hotel's ok and it's on the beach but it is on the other side of the island. Taxi rides to and from add up quick. If you're just looking to relax for your stay, this is an ok place, but if you have any plans to island hop like we did, take my advise and stay closer to Roadtown.

Worth visiting
Beef Island Inn isn't glamorous, but it's clean, comfortable, and mellow. It has a small beach out front, as well as a friendly beach bar. The food at the bar was simple and good--the night I stayed there, there was a grill man right in the bar cooking the burgers and fish. The room had a comfortable bed and the bathroom was clean. It wasn't plush, but it was good enough. And that goes a long way some days, doesn't it?

Expedia failed to book our room with the hotel.
Bad experience!!! Arrived at Beef Island Guest House about 2:30pm expecting to relax awhile before tomorrow's flight home. But Expedia had not contacted the hotel to arrange our stay even though I had paid in full over three weeks ago. They had no vacancies so we were forced to get another cab and find another place to spend the night. Not a pleasant end to our stay in BVI. The hotel told us we were not the first that this has happened to. She said there had been two other guests that had booked thru Expedia, but Expedia had failed to contact the hotel. Good luck staying here if you book with Expedia. Other wise it looked like a nice place and only a 5 minute walk to the airport.

Old place on the beach
The taxi driver didn't know where to take us, the entrance is on the beach, the path is dirt and gravel. There was no check in other than the girl at the desk handing usa plastic info sheet and showing us to the room. Room was sparse and spartan. We had to drag our luggage through the gravel to get to the airport in the morning since there was no one at the desk to call a cab for us.

A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE!
THIS GUEST HOUSE IS UNDER IMPROVEMENTS. THE OWNER IS A LOCAL FAMILY, THAT DO NOT LIVE AT THE GUEST HOUSE. BECAUSE THE OTHER THREE ROOMS WERE NOT OCCUPIED, AFTER 6PM I WAS ALONE IN THE HOUSE. THEY DID NOT SERVE BREAKFAST. PRESENTLY THE INFRA-STRUCTURE TO SUPPORT THE TRAVELERS IS VERY WEAK, BUT IN THE NEAR FUTURE THE RESTAURANT WILL BE WORKING. A SELF TRANSPORTATION IS A MUST.

Pleasant surprise
Arrived in the evening and was welcomed and the room was ready. I had stayed here before and was not impressed. This time things had changed. Room was airy and spacious with air conditioning. No one else was staying there. Next door is a lively restaurant open late.

Closed without advise!!! It's a shame!

Over booked
We had booked and paid for 2 rooms 9 days before arrival but when we came to the hotel it was overbooked and they could not provide us any rooms. Even when we were sitting there at the reception the website hotel.com showed that they had one room available even though it obviously was fully booked. Something is not working with the system!! The receptionist apologized and help us find another hotel and paid for the taxi i
