Very clean stay. Sadly there was no internet reception at all. Water pressure was very low.

The staff were lovely, they reached out early in the day to let us know that the key would be in the room and we could just rock up. The rooms were spotlessly clean and there were lots of spare blankets and pillows. My only gripe is that the water pressure was super weak - I struggled washing the shampoo out, but that's fairly minimal compared to all the pluses. We'd stay here again with zero concerns, it's a great place.

Would be good to have a peeler and a small vegetable knife otherwise good. Possibly a microwave would be useful.

This was a great little town and place to spend 1 night on our way from Mt. Cook to Christchurch. The unit was large and comfortable. The town was very quaint. The meat pies at the bakery were fabulous and worth the wait in line!

Happy traveler in NZ!
Wonderful accommodations for a family, free kitchen, wood burning stove for pizzas, and grilling hot plates for meats. Multiple sinks for cleanup and plenty of seating inside and picnic tables outside. If you don't have pots and pans you can rent them st the front desk. Free 1/2 sauna, $30/hrly for the hot tub and private. Showers and bathrooms had wonderful water pressure and plenty of hot water. Best laundry accommodations we've seen yet. Dryers actual dried denim pants first time around! I would highly recommend this place, as itcwas close to a park accross from the water and very close to town and food.

Wish I was staying longer
Lovely place to stay and a lovely town. I would like to return and stay for several days and just potter around the area, including more time at Lake Tekapo, 40mins away. The unit was roomy, clean and had everything needed to allow us to be self sufficient - there's even a herb garden if you're cooking.

This is an absolutely incredible stay if you want to visit Lake Tekapo. I wasn't able to find even hostel accom there, but found Aorangi Motel and I'm so glad I did. I had a bit of car trouble and unexpected delays on the day I was travelling to Fairlie, and Erin was so incredibly helpful to deal with! The rooms are beautiful. The kitchenette is perfect for making morning oats and cups of tea, which is all I needed, and the shower was piping hot. I had an incredible sleep in the king bed after Tekapo stargazing! If I ever come back to Lake Tekapo/Fairlie (and I sorely hope I do) I will come back here, I think Erin runs a beautiful spot and that is clearly a labour of love for her and her family. The rooms feel warm, personable and comfortable. The last thing I will say is my own silly fault and warning to fellow travellers - if travelling during summer, close the windows after dusk. I left them open when I went stargazing, and came back to many little insect friends. I should have known better as an Aussie, but I digress.
