Sorrento's Historic Centre wraps you in a time-traveling hug of medieval magic. Honey-colored buildings with wrought-iron balconies line narrow cobblestone streets where the scent of fresh limoncello drifts from artisan workshops. The 14th-century Sedil Dominova and Sorrento Cathedral stand proud among bustling piazzas filled with outdoor cafés. Ancient Roman gates frame postcard-worthy views of Mount Vesuvius across the bay. Traditional trattorias dish up mouthwatering gnocchi alla sorrentina while boutique hotels occupy converted Renaissance palazzos. The area is blissfully car-free, though the uneven cobblestones require comfy shoes. Early mornings offer peaceful exploration before the day-trippers arrive, making this charming pocket of history worth every step.
Marina Grande delivers authentic Italian coastal charm with colourful fishing boats bobbing in crystal waters beneath dramatic cliffs. Watch local fishermen mend their nets on the pebbled shore or climb ancient stone steps between pastel houses. The historic Chiesa di Sant'Anna offers breathtaking Bay of Naples views, while hidden grottos provide peaceful escapes from the world. Seafood restaurants serve ultra-fresh catch with tables perched right over the water, specialising in local classics like linguine with clams. Most visitors arrive on foot down stone steps from Sorrento centre or by local bus. The compact village layout makes exploring easy, though steep paths require good walking shoes.

"Excellent hotel in very convenient location in Sorrento. Easy walk to shops, restaurants and Marina Grande. The staff provided excellent service, the breakfast provided in the morning was a tasty buffet on the 4th floor with an amazing view of Mt Vesuvius and the sea. The AC worked very well thank goodness because it was very hot outside during our stay. We were there four nights and very pleased with our choice. They also arranged airport pickup for us from Naples which went smoothly. The hotel has an elevator."
"Loved Hotel Capri. Very spacious lounge area and nice looking pool. Breakfast was amazing with wonderful selection of food to select. Tip - air conditioning will not turn on if window is open. "
"A lovely friendly welcome also with a free glass of Prosecco, comfortable beds and clean room. Excellent breakfast, perfect location, just up off the main strip. Lovely pool . I would highly recommend "
"When we arrived , the front desk upgraded us to an ocean view room. It was magnificent! Everyone was extremely accommodating. The chef stayed an extra half hour to make sure we had a great lunch. "
"Very good hotel! It was located within minutes of piazza Tasso and the train station. Easy to walk everywhere. Room was very clean and comfortable.
The only thing that I was not happy at all was one of the front desk employees. Getting to Sorrento takes you a few hours specially when coming from Milan. When we got there it was around 1:30pm. We know check in it’s not supposed to be until 3pm but in all the hotels I’ve been around the world sometimes the rooms are ready before that time. The front desk lady was rude to us and said to wait outside because the room was not ready yet. If she had said it to us in a different way we would totally understand but she didn’t have manners.
Right after the front desk shift, there was another couple right next to us who had the same situation with this lady, and at 2:15 they went and ask the next shift in lobby and they gave us our rooms.
I had so say this. However, I was very happy with the hotel and the cleanliness. Breakfast service was very good and overall I would definitely stay here next time I come to Sorrento "
