Family and Dog Friendly
Very quiet and super friendly. My dog loved the property and loved walking and exploring. Continental breakfast was just perfect and it had lots of choices. Plenty of activities for adults and kids. Fire pit was fun along with hot tub and playground. Rooms have been updated. Microwave and fridge were convenient.

Not a great stay. Not given the room we booked. Rooms in general were clean and modern, but we were charged $20 for arriving 45 minutes early. No shampoo, soap in room. Breakfast was not great, just packaged muffins and cereal. Staff was not helpful with our concerns and would not refund for the lower cost rooms we got.

Great property in gorgeous Estes Park
We were provided the room 201 and it was fantastic! Tastefully decorated as well as very clean and warm. We went there during the Thanksgiving - off season so there wasn't a ton to do around. We were glad we chose Discovery Lodge as we spent considerable time in the room which is unusual for us. The room was spacious and the beds (1 queen in main bedroom and 2 twins in the other room) were very comfortable with extra pillows in the closet. Large TVs in both the rooms were fantastic. Bathroom was very clean and had plenty of towels. Heating worked well making the room cozy. The room itself is at a corner and at ground level. The property has several buildings and is weirdly laid out. The parking lot could have been cleaner as there was a ton of slush due to the snow it must have got before. This posed some risk, especially because the main door wasn't open so we were forced to walk through the slush/ice. Morning breakfast was typical - Bread, Butter, Store bought cupcakes and waffles, fruits, yogurt, oatmeal and cereals. Espresso machine was nice. The support staff could have been more smiling and friendly though they were certainly polite.

It was great, beautiful view, it was a little tricky getting checked in but it was half my fault for not calling and seeing if they closed early

2/10 Poor

Unforgivable Treatment, Appalling Customer Service
WARNING: The customer service is unforgivably inadequate. I wanted to avoid leaving a bad review and gave the lodge one month to respond to six separate complaints I filed (two in person, two over the phone, and two over email). This was my last resort but let it speak to their lack of commitment to make things right. We stayed here in late September 2024. The room was adequate, but on our second day, we found a dead, rotting bird under our bed. Upon finding the bird, we disposed of it and kindly asked that the staff clean our room while we were out for the day. When we got back, nothing was touched, no one had cleaned, and we had to sleep with the bugs and smell of decay. At checkout, the front desk told us the manager would contact us to make things right. After one week, I received no response. I placed two calls requesting they follow up, and got false promises saying they were going to call back later that day. In the following month, I emailed twice requesting a follow up. Nothing. This is bad service. No other way to say it. Very disappointed. To the lodge: Again, I was hoping to receive a follow up, after which point I would leave a review highlighting the positive impact that communication had on me. One month is plenty of wiggle room, thought I was being fair.

Great location/view/value
The location and view were fantastic! The property offered many amenities, which was a nice bonus, and the front desk staff were very helpful. I had a just couple of issues: my bathing suit either went missing or was thrown away while drying on the balcony, and the blankets weren't very comfortable. The hot tub could have been cleaner, and the breakfast options were limited (no hot foods), though the hot tub itself was at a great temperature. Overall, the view and location were incredible, the staff was friendly, and the room was very clean. This motel/lodge provides great value for the price, with comfortable pillows and beds. The lake is a pleasant walk away, and the availability of a grill and fire pit was a wonderful touch.

Exclusive cabin no heat and not clean!
We stayed in the exclusive cabin. We checked in about 430 pm and the house was only 55 degrees. We tried getting the gas fireplace and the the furnace on to heat up the house a little bit. Nothing would turn on. We called the main office and they sent over the maintenance person. He got the fireplace to turn on but not the furnace. After 15 minutes the fire alarms kept going off because the fireplace blower was not blowing out what it needed to. We called back over and they sent the maintenance person over. We had to call another person to translate as he didn’t understand what we were saying. He got the blower to work and then also the furnace for about 5 minutes and then it turned off and wouldn’t turn back on the rest of the night. It was 30 degrees outside. The house also was not clean. I wanted to use one of the fans to try to blow the air from the living room down the hall to the freezing bedrooms but they were so full of dust I didn’t want to chance turning them on. Filthy sponges were left in the kitchen, hair from a previous person shaving in the bathroom sink, nothing was dusted or vacuumed. Also says free breakfast, this consisted only of toast, coffee, yogurt, cereal in the individual packs. Hardly a breakfast especially for those of us who have to be gluten free. Just tell people it’s continental not a full breakfast. Definitely not worth $700 a night!!! Took a $200 cleaning fee to not clean. There was also a busted baby gate just left by the steep stairs.

Great location and animal viewing.
Great location. It is Grand Central Station for elk and Canadian Geese. It's an easy walk into town and the River Walk as well as Lake Estes. Staff members were pleasant. The room we were in was basic but entirely adequate and comfortable. Breakfast arrangements are in the reception area that is really too small. Some rooms have been refurbished and others not.

We love staying here! Great property in a great location. The only downside was that our room was right under the main office so we could here all the noise when people came for breakfast.
