10/10 Exceptional

Nice rooms that included a small kitchen. Great location for one night or multiple day stay.
Jasmin, 1-night trip

The bed was horribly uncomfortable and you could hear everything from the upstairs and the other rooms due to poor insulation. It was very noisy.
Jake, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Rooms need a small table and some hooks. Clean rooms and nice area upstairs for eating and hanging out.

Not worth the cost

Kids living behind property constantly drove an ATV by our window. Lots of vehicles going back and forth. Bathroom smelled of mildew. No functional hook for shower head. Throw pillows were stained with an unknown liquid. Upstairs family room was nice but required climbing stairs that really should be called a ladder.

For young fit people with small budget only

The place was super basic and with no space at all. One person could hardly fit into the shower (and we are fit people - like the shower width is around 50cms). Matresses were very bad I woke up with huge backache. Except that the location and the view from the windows were astonishing!

2/10 Poor

Disappointed and out of our $

We arrived, opened the door, we couldn’t stay there, so hot we would have cooked. Extremely remote, didn’t feel safe.
Susan, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

This is a really nice property; clean and well equipped. My only complaint was it was boiling hot when we arrived. It was a warm day already (perhaps unusual for Iceland?) but the little house was sweltering and it was difficult to get a cross breeze as only 2 small windows could be opened. It was uncomfortably hot for about 3 hours (we even propped open the door to try to get the hot air out). Except for the heat, I was happy with this accommodation. Great location.

Great location to relax, so quiet and peaceful

Not worth the risk

Do not book this place if you are worried you will not access your room. The service is non-existent as there is no one there to help, and you can’t reach through the phone. We never received a PIN code for our room, and had just luck when getting it, on our fifth attempt to call. The lady hung up mid-conversation and refused to send us the code on email. We drove 45 min from Selfoss not knowing if we could get in to our room. The room is ok and clean but small. Location is beautiful, and you can reach an “outside pool” in the mountain side just a 45 walk from the premises. But really not worth to take this risk, considering the price (!). Pay 50 more euros and stay in a hotel, or do it cheaper with a camping van or tent. We payed 300 euros for one night here, not worth it in my opinion.

A very practical place to stay in a beautiful area. The rooms are clean and good for sleep. On the 2nd floor you have a place to stay and a kitchen, so everything you need.

Guesthouse Ediborg

This guesthouse was a wonderful place to stay not far from Vik. The beds were comfortable and the shared amenities were nice. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It didn't seem to be completely cleaned between people's visits...
Sierra, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The property reeks and hot water runs out quick . Outside view is breathtaking and attractions are very accessible.
Jaime, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The surroundings were beautiful. The shared kitchen and relaxing area was very comfortable and roomy. The place was not very insulated so count hear people in the shared space and when leaving in the morning.
Carol, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

This guesthouse was good location. However, our room smelled a bit strange (like bad cleaning products or urine?) and the other guests were loud (and their troubles opening their doors was amplified in the hallway). Bed was comfortable. We did see northern lights over the volcano that night, sitting in the driveway.
Kate, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Cozy room with comfortable beds and a gorgeous view of the mountains
Sara, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Cute area snuggled in a valley. Northern lights danced behind the mountain. Check in was very easy. Room was simple and efficient. Unfortunately a strong sewer smell was the first thing you notice as you walk in. If you kept the bathroom door closed in the bedroom the smell lightened almost unnoticable.

Check-in was a disaster: in the e-mail it said that we should call as soon as we arrived but no one picked up (or ever called back). After around an hour of waiting and calling unsucessfully the cleaning lady gave the key to us
Lea, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

This is a very bare bones property. It's a self check-in facility, and is a little unusual in Iceland guesthouses in that there is no breakfast facilities. That said, it was perfectly functional.

No-frills rooms

This is a no-frills guesthouse that’s fine if you just need a bed to sleep in for the night. Our room had a bed, heater and bathroom, that’s it! They had Wi-Fi but nothing else. Property is nice if you want to do some walking.
Jasmine, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Simple guesthouse. Not much in the way of amenities. No soundproofing can be very loud if children are present.
Charles, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Check in was quite difficult. When I finally did get in touch with someone they were rude. Would not recommend this place.
Sue, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Our room had a smell and windows didn't open. While we were in our room, staff came in and started vacuuming, definitely not invited in.
Wendy, 2-night trip

-The room and the bathroom was not soo clean and tidy. -They did not have a kitchen/a electric kettle to make a coffee or tea. -Check-in as easy and did not have any issues even though we arrive at 8.30pm. -I will not go back to this guest house.
Namrata, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

There were folks checking into the property at all hours, and the noise made it impossible to sleep. Some sound proofing in the halls could help with this, as the empty hallways amplified voices and the doors being unlocked/slammed shut. Our shower head was broken as well. The check in was easy and someone came to tidy and clean during the day.
