Thanh Binh 1 City Hotel= 1/10 for customer service
The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the old quarter, however Thanh Binh 1 City Hotel has very little to do with an actual hotel apart from the name. A guest house or homestay perhaps would have been more accurate.
Simple requests for extra towels, toiletpaper or refill of the minibar either got no action from the staff or had to be repeatedly requested. In a 6 day stay at the Thanh Binh 1 City Hotel we did not once have trash removed from our rooms, our beds made, toiletpaper supplied or minibar refilled. On top of that one of our rooms (206) was incredibly noisy especially during the night, after making this known to the reception, they were immediately went 'ohhh yeah that room is very noisy because all the mechanical stuff like the airconditions, laundry machines are on the flat roof on top of the room'. Needless to say the hotel didnt try to remedy the noise issues nor did they offer a discount or additional services. On the day of our checkout we had a very late night train to catch and we asked about a possible 2 hour late checkout. With the hotel being only 40% booked and us having stayed at the place for almost a week we kind of considered it an almost standard procedure as a way of rewarding customers staying for longer. But no, the people in the reception had no liberty to grant a late checkout and were unable to get hold of any kind of managers or ownership to solve the issue. Thanh Binh 1 City Hotel = 1 out of 10 for customer service.
