ibis Cambridge Central Station
"Extremely helpful staff. Kept our baggage after we checked out for the day without extra charges."
The Three Pickerels
"Room was clean, comfortable and the balcony a bonus - much better than Premier Inn!"
Orton Hall Hotel & Spa
"Clean, welcoming staff, excellent food, well presented"
Wilde Cambridge City Centre
"Everything about the hotel was absolutely fantastic apart from the bed, which was against the wall and the light switches too far from the bed to reach."
Novotel Cambridge North
"Really happy with the hotel and our stay there. My only negative point was having to pay for parking, at the train station next to the hotel. Only free parking is for blue badge holders."
Delta Hotels by Marriott Huntingdon
"Great hotel with loads of parking and staff are really friendly. Room was clean and tidy. Bar was nice and food was great. Would definitely use again."
Poets House
"Our room looked out to the cathedral. It was spacious, a great bathroom with shower, and a copper bath in the bedroom. Staff here are outstanding, and Ely itself is compact, picturesque and very interesting indeed. Fabulous location to explore everywhere on foot, no vehicle required !"
Riverside Inn
"The room was extremely good and the view over the river amazing. It’s the first time we’ve stayed in a guesthouse where you have a code for the main door, pick up your key and good to go. Didn’t see anyone else. Breakfast was the first time we saw any of the staff, extremely helpful and polite, breakfast was delicious but even though very well cooked the choice was only scrambled egg, sausages, crispy bacon and cooked tomato. Fine for a short stay, but I didn’t want cereal or fresh fruit and snakes, I do enjoy a cooked breakfast, needs a little choice rotation I think? Excellent stop over for a short break, Ely is a beautiful town. Would use again"
Turing Locke Cambridge
"Convenient location 15 minutes outside of Cambridge, new hotel in a new neighbourhood. Great staff, very good facilities. One recommendation is to request the couch/sofa that converts to a bed, the other option is uncomfortable."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Ely
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Ely is from January to March, when hotel rates are typically lower. To fully appreciate the city’s historical landmarks, cultural sites, and natural beauty, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, you can explore the magnificent cathedral, intriguing museums, and charming temples. Additionally, engaging with the friendly locals, joining guided tours, and enjoying birdwatching opportunities amidst the scenic surroundings will provide you with great value for money.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Ely travellers may discover the best hotel deals by exploring DealsOpens in a new window on Hotels.com. For those seeking minute hotel deals in Ely, the Last-Minute Deals section could offer opportunities to save on hotels as travel dates approach. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, using the Smart Shopping tool via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you can secure a last-minute getaway if rooms become available or prices drop.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and season, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in an Ely hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation nearer to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels situated in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You could also look into independent hotels located a bit further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
