This is a beautiful boutique hotel - a converted fire station. It was unique, clean, quiet, comfortable, and modern. I would definitely stay there again.

We were in Columbia overnight for a graduation at Fort Jackson. The hotel was in a great spot-close to great food, bars, and the capital. Staff were exceptional. The in-hotel bar was lovely. Room was super clean and very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely stay again if we are ever back in town.

This is a brand new hotel with great amenities such as a Keurig outside your room in a shared corridor with many choices of coffee or tea, a water dispenser, and bags of ice. We slept amazingly well!! Will definitely be returning for another stay.

The Lantern is a beautiful hotel and the staff was friendly and competent. We absolutely loved it! We enjoyed drinks at the bar, delicious food, and the neighborhood. My husband attended the university about 50 years ago, and the campus was a short walk from The Lantern, so he was able to show me all of the places he lived, attended classes, and worked back then.

It’s a beautiful restoration of the old fire station. They had a great program to employ special needs kids as well as the hospitality majors at USC and they were all great. It’s a beautiful facility, clean and comfortable! Coffee stations were easily accessible!! The restaurant bar and lobby is amazing as well!!

A great new hotel a few blocks from colonial life stadium and downtown. Park your car and walk for the weekend. Super comfy beds with elevated linens. The new restaurant at the facility is amazing and the bar staff is top notch. I love that this facility employs people with disabilities. They over deliver on customer service and a warm positive attitude. I will definitely stay there again!

Room was clean. Staff was welcoming and accommodating. Setting is super cool in an old fire station. Just be aware, valet is $30/day (!) and didn't realize that until checkout.

This was such a "hidden" (recently-opened) gem! My husband and I stayed over a long weekend for our anniversary and were happily surprised by the luxurious feel of the hotel, including our room, the downstairs restaurant Ladder 13, and the kind and eager-to-help staff. The historic location is also a very cool aspect of staying here (including garage doors that open to connect the lobby to the city) and the mission behind the owner's story made this our favorite place we have ever stayed. We would highly recommend!

Need more bottled beer options..... not everyone likes "craft" beer and/or draft.
