Mary Mount Hotel
"The Mary Mount is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location on Derwentwater. The staff at the hotel are brilliant and the customer service is excellent. The food at the hotel is plentiful tasty and well presented. The hotel is looking a little tired in places and could benefit from a lick of paint and some slight modernisation. That being said the rooms are warm clean and comfortable and we would definitely return"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Whitehaven
- Book for the cheapest times: For a budget-friendly trip, consider visiting Whitehaven during January, February, or November, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. This is an affordable option for travellers on a budget. To fully appreciate the town’s landmarks, history, and culture — including its port, churches, cathedral, biking excursions, business tours, bars, and family-friendly attractions — plan to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. This duration offers great value for money while allowing you to explore key sites at a relaxed pace.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Whitehaven on Hotels.com, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may find discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. To stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. If availability changes or prices drop, you could be among the first to know, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find savings on your stay in a Whitehaven hotel. For those seeking something a bit different, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a more affordable option.
- Consider your location: Remaining in close proximity to key attractions or city centres may offer a degree of convenience, though it usually tends to be more expensive. For more affordable options, consider seeking accommodation in less central areas or neighbourhoods, thereby balancing cost with the ease of accessing the places you intend to visit. You might also explore independent hotels a little further afield, which more often than not provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
