Not much in the way of room cleaning during our 3 night stay. Music downstairs in the main bar was extremely loud; luckily we found the subtitles for the TV! Staff friendly.

The room we stayed in was a double in the courtyard. It suited me and my husband as only for 2 nights, bed was comfy and seemed bigger than a double that was advertised. Bathroom is small, shower was excellent, and you don't need to bring soap, shower gel or shamphoo as small bottles are provided. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, which is always nice. Staff are lovely and helpful, breakfast is good. Well worth a visit x

We can't fault this hotel. Staff are amazing, very helpful with recommendations on places to see. Next visit to York I'll be booking here. Parking isn't the easiest to find, we had to ring the hotel. The member of staff gave brilliant directions and even offered to stand on the street if needed.

Breakfast was minimal regarding choice. Staff friendly. Room was very worn but had everything we needed. Sachet tea, coffee and hot chocolate drinks and biscuits weren't replenished on 2nd day of our stay, but I'm sure if we asked for them we could have gotten some more.

Room was clean, carpet starting to show its age. The only negative was size, it was TINY. There was nowhere in the room to put suitcases except on floor and even then, space so small, stepping over/around it constantly. Would have been ok for one person, but awfully cramped for two of us.

Not the best welcome when we arrived. Breakfast better on 2nd day, ladies serving breakfast were lovely and friendly. Bathroom left a lot to be desired there was black mould on the walls, ceiling and shower. The toilet seat was loose and there were cracks in the porcelain. The bedroom curtains were mouldy and the secondary glazing was held open by a wooden block. Nice clean and comfy bed room of a good size.
