My stay at bear Hotel & Homestay was a mixed experience with several notable drawbacks. As a solo traveler staying for just one night, I appreciated a few basic comforts, but critical maintenance and policy issues ultimately made me decide to move to a different hotel after my first night. On the positive side, the hotel was clean, and my room was large, comfortable, and well-maintained. Additionally, the young man working at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. However, several issues impacted the quality and security of my stay. The lock on the balcony door did not work at all, which is a real safety concern, especially for someone traveling alone. The power also went out twice during my single night there. The second time, the outage appeared to affect only my room, and the staff was completely unaware of the issue until I brought it to their attention. Furthermore, they offer no flexibility for a complimentary late check-out; their policy strictly charges an hourly fee of $3 to $4 USD depending on room size. While the cleanliness and friendly desk staff were appreciated, the poor maintenance, lack of room reliability, and strict check-out policies mean I won't be returning.
