A very historic building to stay in! Friendly staff throughout and very clean. The only problem was that the pool was advertised as being open year round, only to find out it's closed during the winter months.

4/10 Fair

Check in was slow , only one girl and was booking someone on line, so waited 10-15minutes . I have mobility issues and got the elevator up to the 3rd floor and had to walk down two sets of stairs to our room . The room was very small & pillows uncomfortable. Ate in hotel restaurant and the service was excellent and food was very good .

Just okay
It was just okay. The room is very small. It was surprising to see single pane glass in this climate. Great water pressure. The check in procedure was fast and friendly. There needs to be more sound proofing.. you could hear the conversations of the cleaning staff. Stayed One night only. I would come back

6/10 Good

Overall, the stay was fine. I always enjoy the charm of the Digby Pines. My experience in the restaurant was a bit disappointing. Undercooked fish and extremely long wait to have it corrected, and then I was brought fish which was overcooked. And serve the cold vegetables back on my plate that were on my original plate that was waiting for the fish to be redone. Overall the service in the restaurant from the staff was very good. The room itself was very charming. It was very cold when I arrived at 18°. I think when you were expecting guests to check in, perhaps certainly this time of the year, ensuring the rooms are an appropriate temperature would be helpful. There is not an appropriate amount of bathroom. About a half a roll was supplied.

8/10 Very good

Digby Pines is a beautiful facility, but due to its age some things could use replacement, or repair. It seemed to us that it was a work in progress. Even allowing for some of the aging infrastructure of the building, it has an ambience which is extremely pleasing. The building oozes history. The food and the service in the Churchill dining room were excellent. The pool and recreation facility were maintained in extremely good condition. It is a place that I certainly look forward to returning to.

10/10 Exceptional

We enjoyed our stay very much. The outdoor heated pool was magnificent in late September, with the crisp morning air and fall colours. Our Brier Island whale watch day made our top ten NS days *ever.* We also loved the convenient lobby bar and the friendly bartender. The Churchill provided us with a fine dining evening. A small fridge in our room would have been a welcome addition but the ice machine was a good backup.
