Staff were wonderful (especially the restaurant staff), food was absolutely delicious, and the beach was amazing! The resort itself is wonderful.
BUT the shuttle there cost $250 USD (which was a shock) and there's nothing in walking distance. Trying to set up transport through the resort is incredibly expensive ($25USD for the 10 minute drive to the nearest town).
Talking to the restaurant staff can get you contact info for local drivers, and the drivers the hotel hires can often be contacted directly if you're friendly with them. The prices are much better that way (in our case, 200 pesos to the town or about 10USD). But really, you need a vehicle to fully explore the area.
In short, the property is wonderful, the staff are amazing, the food and the beach are great. If you're just looking for a weekend getaway I highly recommend it. But if you're staying longer or like to explore then make sure you have access to a car.
