Not relaxing, disappointed
I have breast cancer and we went as a celebration of completely and my surgery is in a few days so my friend and I wanted to go and relax without our kids and enjoy the sauna and hot tub which noted on several signs both things are for 16 and older. We checked and headed down to use the services. The hot tub was cold. The woman worker said she was the process of draining it and adding hot water. Ok, we go to the sauna. We get out of the sauna and the hot tub was a little bit warmer but still not as hot as it should have been but tolerable. So we get in and then a man comes in with 10 small kids some of which had floaties on. They are taking up the entire hot tub, splashing, jumping in and out scraming stepping all over us and the Dad doesnt do anything but apologize over and over. So we get out to use the sauna to get a break from these kids. They are so loud we can hear them loudly inside the sauna. So we complain to the manager who says its up the the parents when clearly there are two signs that say 16 and older. So we sit in a pool for a few minutes because we cant even get into the hot tub because its still filled with the screaming children. We see the lady who was working on warming up the hot tub and let her know the situation and she makes the kids get out. So we finally get back in the hot tub and its finally warmed up enough to enjoy and then we get kicked out of the area because someone broke class at its only 6:30 pm. It completely ruined our stay.

Overnight in Wilkes-Barre
The property is a little outdated and could have been a bit better at housekeeping. The check in was okay, but didn’t seem to be as welcoming as other places. The check out was great though. It was okay for an overnight stay but I’m on the fence about booking there again.

Have stayed here a few times, and it never disappoints. There are cheap options in the area for a 1 night stay, but they come at a cost. Usually sacrificing cleanliness, or overall quality. This is probably the best choice you can make, that won't leave you feeling like you wasted comfort or coin.

Former great hotel sliding downhill.
Have stayed at this property numerous times over the past 10 years or so, including multiple nights each Christmas holiday. Very good people from desk to breakfast buffet to cleaning persons, but the decline in the property itself is disappointing. This 7 day visit, only one elevator was working (they have two). The hot tub was broken again this year, 'waiting on a part'. With the hot tub closed two years for covid, that's 4 years out of the last 5. Ice machines are routinely out of service. And why does a non-smoking hotel smell so often of weed in the hallways? While the staff is as accommodating as they could be, it becomes a question if the property is worth the fairly premium rates they charge.

They will do roome service for a charge - NY Bistro Restaurant was excellent - bede comfortable also pillows - very close to Geisinger hospital if you have a procedure scheduled the next day like i did - cable sucked , had 3 HBO channel but missing a lot of the big name channels like Bravo , USA , CW etc etc - and you have to have patience getting to the channels they do have once you select them - very close ( drivable ) to a lot of shopping and restaurants ! All in all a decent enough place for the price
