Convenient location, price is fair, clean.
Best of all is the location. A few steps to the streetcar that takes you downtown in less than 20 minutes. 2 grocery stores on the block, 3 excellent places to eat within the block. Pharmacy across the street. I first had a single room which was very small and I found not too inviting. I switched to a double which had been remodeled and which was fine. I think the lighting could be improved. It had a small kitchen area where I cannot see fixing a meal, but ok to store snacks in the fridge or reheat something. All rooms seem to have an outside area, either a balcony or a little veranda. Breakfast buffet is nice. I particularly liked the receptionist, Angela, who is helpful and personable. The one who was on duty when I arrived not so much; she told me the room was not available until 3:00 and did not suggest storing my luggage until then . All other personnel are polite and helpful. The rooms are cleaned by demand; days when they are not cleaned the hotel will donate 4 Euros to charity. All in all, I would stay there again.

Good value. My only criticism was that my intended room had a smell of cooked meat. Rooms have cooking facilities. However, reception gave me another room that was most satisfactory. Airy, comfortable rooms, with balconies overlooking the garden. Very good breakfast. Can recommend this hotel.

A perfect weekend hotel
My stay at the Franz Kaiser Joseph was excellent and provided a perfect escape for our trip to Vienna. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and the parking below was a nice affordable amenity. The rooms were well kept and the noise level was calm and quiet which made it easy to sleep peacefully all night.

Good place outside the city center for tourists
The property is listed as a business hotel but I think that’s because you get a mini kitchen in the room. There are several public transportation options to get you to the city center in about 30 minutes. The breakfast buffet is pretty good in the European style. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. You will get room cleaning service daily. There are several cafes nearby and even a McDonalds, although I don’t understand the concept of fast food in Vienna. Highly recommended.

Although the hotel was some distance from the city centre, there were very good tram and train links not just to the centre, but also to other districts. The fact that the hotel was at a distance meant we had to use public transport, which gave us the opportunity to see everyday life in Vienna, which was fascinating! There were restaurants near the hotel in addition to the restaurant in the hotel. The hotel facilities were very good, and the two bottles of beer and two bottles of water was both unexpected and very welcome!

Great, reasonably priced (for Vienna) hotel. We arrived at 10pm so the McDonalds just round the corner was a godsend. Nearby tram stop takes you to the centre of Vienna in 10 minutes (11 stops) for €2.60. Room was great. Had a balcony which was very good for smokers. Would definitely visit again.
