Learn more about Mammoth Lakes
Beneath the shadow of a dormant volcano, alpine lakes mirror pine-studded mountains where black bears occasionally wander through town as if checking their investments. In winter, world-class powder blankets Mammoth Mountain's slopes, while summer reveals hiking trails that wind past wildflower meadows to hidden waterfalls. Take the Village Gondola for panoramic views without breaking a sweat. The eerie tufa towers of Mono Lake rise like ancient sculptures from mineral-rich waters. After skiing or mountain biking, soak aching muscles in natural hot springs scattered throughout the valley. Sierra Star Golf Course offers high-altitude drives where thin air adds distance to every shot. Fish for rainbow trout in Lake Mary, then watch the alpenglow paint the mountains at sunset.

Limelight Mammoth
"Very clean and new, maintained well. Dog friendly and walkable."
Edelweiss Lodge
"The lodging was clean and inviting we absolutely loved it. Drove 8 hours for my first visit to mammoth and would stay here again in a heart beat! Its wonderful to have a room and full kitchen if need be at the same price as a normal hotel!"
Shilo Inns Mammoth Lakes

Outbound Mammoth
"Needs updates- I woke up with a headache because of bed and pillows. And garbage was all over the parking lot, but probably more like a guest issue."
Austria Hof Lodge
"We were advertised a balcony but the fire escape really cut off the usable part of the balcony. Great to have the fire escape handy but it wasn’t quite usable as a balcony room! As well, the room was not thoroughly checked as we found food in the fridge from the previous tenants. The view was OK as we saw the mountain from the shared portion of the balcony as our portion looked into other chalets. Try and get a front facing balcony for a better view! Parking was limited so we had to park on the street."
The Mammoth Creek Inn
"Our room had a full kitchen and was very spacious. Staff was helpful and readily available. Several restaurants within walking distance, as well as a nice trail. Place has seen younger days and has a bit of wear and tear, but overall not a bad place to stay when in Mammoth."
Tamarack Lodge and Resort
"Cute Small rooms and even smaller bathrooms upstairs in the main lodge. Very nice common areas. Nice lake view from our corner room window. Excellent Bar tender and sommelier. Good front desk staff. Convenient Parking. Crowded at breakfast with many Karen’s."
Ventura Grand Inn
"This is an older property. Room had a working microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge. Best budget friendly in-and-out-one-night stay in Mammoth Lakes! Will definitely be back."

- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more economical option for your stay in a Mammoth Lakes hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it happens to be on the higher side, we might suggest alternative dates that could potentially yield a more favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels in close proximity to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Mammoth Lakes's superb public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still conveniently linked.
