Very crowded during the day, less so at night! It's become a tourist trap. Such a shame, it's my 6th time in Venice during the past 45 years and due to the crowds it's definitely not what it used to be ie a beautiful, authentic historical city.

The city is beautiful, loved the architecture and all the bridges. Go see a glass blowing factory, so cool. Stop off in all the little bars you find tucked away in all the streets. Take advantage and just walk and explore the city. You'll love it!

If you are on a short break and a small budget then when you arrive at the airport purchase the 3 day public transport ticket. There is a bus that goes from the airport to the bus terminal where you can the use the same ticket on all the water buses.

Very crowded, but there is A LOT of beautiful and unique architecture and art that everyone wants to see. Go off the beaten path & the crowds lessen significantly. Wander around & get a guide if you really want to understand this remarkable place.

Visiting Venice during its quieter months is an experience filled with unexpected delights and serene beauty. Away from the bustling crowds of peak tourist season, Venice reveals a more authentic, peaceful side, making it an absolute joy to explore.

Walk and keep walking - go down alleyways and explore. Go where tourists don't. Listen for and follow the music. Prepare for amazing experiences. Wear flat boots/shoes. Look for genuine Murano glass (price reflects). Islands ok, but long day trip.

Venice is awesome! It provides a unique experience that can't be had anywhere else in the world! No wonder why it is recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO! But, it is overcrowded and super hot and humid. Maybe visit during non-peak times.

Venice is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. I would highly recommend going in winter as it is much quieter though the weekend was really busy. Getting around is easy either walking or using the vaporetto. Lots of nice restaurants too.

Get familiar with the vaporetto boat routes and be prepared to WALK to most places. Get a good ticket to see the Basilica San Marco ... it's the HEART of the city and maybe the richest church we've ever seen, with mosaics coating every surface!

If you're on a budget and want to ride a gondola but don't want to pay 90€ for a private ride, take the Traghetto instead. It's just 2€ per person each way for a short trip on a shared gondola ferry (up to 10 people) across the Grand Canal.
"The property is wonderful and quiet. It is located near Rialto Bridge. They offer a wonderful breakfast selection and give great recommendations for restaurants nearby that are not as touristy. It is near the fish market and gondola crossing as well as several water bus stations. Overall, lovely staff, comfortable rooms and a great place to stay!"
"This hotel is in a fantastic location in Venice. Our room had a large and comfortable king sized bed and overlooked a canal with gondolas coming and going! The bathroom was large and all amenities were very clean. It’s located right next to St Mark’s square, a fantastic tourist attraction, where you can find museums and shopping. It’s also located super close to great food and drinks. I will say, don’t expect strong air conditioning (temperatures are high in the summer months), as the entire building stays at a unified temperature. Staff was helpful by providing a fan, but don’t expect to be able to adjust your room temperature. This is pretty common across many hotels in the area, so I would do your research if it’s important to you or go with an air bnb to be sure. "
