In fine weather it would be easy to travel from Sliema to other parts of Malta. However, we experienced windy, cold days and the ferries to Valletta were uncomfortable and some others were cancelled.

An ideal place with easy access to Valetta via the ferry. Good bus service. Lovely waterfront pavement enabled good walking to St Juliens and even Pembroke.

It's a nice place to use as a base for exploring the island. Sliema itself has plenty of bars and restaurants but in this area they are mostly covered sidewalk terraces which can make them feel a little claustraphobic.

Lovely vibe, and easy to get to other places by public transport, especially the wonderful Valletta ferry.
