Nissi Beach dazzles with its picture-perfect white sand and impossibly turquoise waters that make you want to dive right in. Young travellers flock to lively beach clubs where foam parties and DJ sets keep the energy pumping well past sunset. When you're not swimming out to the iconic sandbar island, you can join the crowd for water sports or claim a sun lounger for prime people-watching. Resort hotels line the shore, offering everything from all-inclusive packages to upscale dining with Mediterranean views. Getting around typically requires taxis or rental cars since public buses are limited. The best moments happen at sunrise before the crowds arrive or at sunset when the limestone cliffs glow golden.
Ayia Napa City Center
Ayia Napa City Centre delivers a sun-soaked party paradise where golden Mediterranean beaches meet pulsing nightlife. The stunning Grecian Bay Beach beckons by day, while neon-lit clubs and bars take over after sunset. History buffs can explore the serene Ayia Napa Monastery standing in quiet contrast to the revelry. Parko Paliatso Luna Park adds thrills for when you need a break from the waves. Tavernas serve fresh seafood alongside international options, with dining spots ranging from casual beach joints to waterfront restaurants. Most visitors get around on foot thanks to pedestrian-friendly zones, though taxis and rental cars are plentiful. Hotels cater primarily to the party crowd, with beachfront resorts offering pool parties and organised entertainment.
Makronissos
Makronissos Peninsula serves up golden beaches and crystal-clear waters just minutes from Ayia Napa's buzzing centre. Landa Beach and Makronissos Beach steal the show with their perfect sandy stretches and calm swimming spots. Beach clubs dot the coastline while water sports keep the energy high for sun-seekers who aren't ready to just lie around all day. Beachfront tavernas dish out fresh seafood and Cypriot mezze with killer ocean views. Most visitors stay in the area's resort hotels or holiday apartments with pools and direct beach access. When you're ready to party, taxis whisk you to Ayia Napa's famous nightlife scene in just ten minutes.
Vathia Gonia
Vathia Gonia offers a peaceful slice of Cyprus away from Ayia Napa's buzzing centre. This residential haven lets you experience local charm while staying just minutes from gorgeous Mediterranean beaches. The Museum of Underwater Sculpture provides a unique artistic experience right off the shore, while the area beach offers quieter sunbathing than the famous Nissi Beach. Family-run tavernas serve delicious Cypriot meze and fresh seafood at prices that won't break the bank. Most accommodation feature budget-friendly apartments and guesthouses with personal service and basic amenities. While public transport is limited, a quick taxi ride or 20-minute walk connects you to Ayia Napa's livelier areas.
Want to top up your tan? Head out to Nissi Beach – one of the most popular seaside spots located 1.6 mi (2.6 km) from central Ayia Napa. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Vathia Gonia Beach, Landa Beach and Makronissos Beach, located nearby.

Good
As an older couple, we are not particularly interested in Ayia Napa's night life or 'young scene'. What we do like are the lovely fishing harbour and restaurants, Sculpture Park and all the beautiful beaches in and around Ayia Napa. A great centre!

We prefer Ayia Napa out of season, being of more senior years! We love the harbour and fish restaurants, town square, sculpture park" and general choice of restaurants and cafes overall.

Ayia Napa is seasonal so keep in mind that many restaurants and attractions may not be open until the second or third week of April, as we found out. This also includes the roof cafe of the hotel. Yet there are still plenty of options.

Excellent
There are a lot of nice restaurants. One bar that I was in every night because the live music was excellent. Was the square bar which is situated near the Hard Rock Cafe.

"From the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The rooms were modern, spotless, and offered breathtaking sea views.
The breakfast and dinner buffets were exceptional, with a huge variety of fresh, high-quality options catering to every taste. The location is perfect—just steps from the stunning Nissi Beach with its crystal-clear waters.
What really stood out was the attention to detail: from the perfectly maintained facilities to the relaxing pool area and well-equipped gym. Every part of the hotel radiates comfort, elegance, and care.
We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, and Cypriot hospitality!"
"I really enjoyed the staff. Everyone was very friendly. I would go back for the rooftop pool/bar area. The view was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the location was good. "
"I recently stayed at Napa Plaza Hotel and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Ayia Napa, just steps away from restaurants, shops, and nightlife—but once you’re inside, it feels like a calm, peaceful escape from the buzz outside.
The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable with sleek decor and everything you need for a relaxing stay. I especially loved the balcony view overlooking the pool area—it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink.
Speaking of the pool—it’s a highlight! Spacious, stylish, and surrounded by loungers and palm trees, it felt like a mini resort. The poolside bar service was excellent, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Breakfast was also fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh options and a lovely atmosphere. There are also several bars and restaurants on-site, including some great spots for cocktails in the evening.
As an adults-only hotel, the vibe is peaceful and sophisticated—ideal for couples or friends looking for a mix of relaxation and entertainment. It truly felt like a boutique getaway.
Overall, I highly recommend Napa Plaza Hotel. It combines location, comfort, and great service perfectly. I’ll definitely be returning!
