"My stay was a respite from daily life, situated on a coastal bulff where the Tayrona river meets the sea. The sea was a little rough for normal beach activities but lying in a hamock listening to the waves crash and watching surfers was sooooo relaxing. The property is not super luxe but it is nicely finished and wel maintained and the staff are attentive and friendly. A great opportunity to practice Spanish since not a lot of English is spoken. The food was all freshly prepared to order and not surpringly featured fish and fresh fruits. We stayed in Room 4 in the back. No view but privacy including a dedicated Jacuzzi.
I had read about this lodge years ago and finally noticed availability so snatched a week during my recent visit to Colombia. The. highlght was after several trips down to the river, I finally saw a good sized crocodile in the water. when i went at low tide and the ocean waves were not disturbing the river.
There iwas a fair amount of on-going construction close by which we heard in the bsck so it wasn't quite as isloated as expected but still a great esacpe to nature."
"The location was great, service was very professional and we had no issues overall. The food is outstanding and prices are fair. We had maybe two points to improve: 1. WiFi was not consistently working, since it works with satellites and the weather can affect the service. 2. Our room was located near the main reception and there was plenty of noise coming from the staff during the mornings."
"Loved the beauty of this place. They had several fruit trees, lots of beautiful flowers and a relaxed feel. The staff was friendly and great at sharing their knowledge of the area. Our room was great with plenty of room to be comfortable. We had a seating area and a bedroom area. The only thing was if you’re tall your legs might touch the wall while using the restroom. Otherwise our room was great! Oh, and just FYI if you can’t climb stairs this may not be the place for you. They had another stair option other than the one in the photo, but either way if you can’t really climb stairs this may not be an ideal place for you to stay. Otherwise you should definitely stay at this beautiful place! "
"It’s a Hostel direct on the Beach. It has 2 rooms with a touch of luxury but it is and remains a Hostel and not a Hotel. We had one of this luxury room with balcony and it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The service lady’s was very friendly and helpful. Around the hostel are many other hostels and restaurants for lunch and dinner. We had a nice small breakfast in the hostel. Internet is mostly available but all these area on the beach has not a really good coverage. Be aware that you reach the Hostel just from the Beach Side. There is a private car park for about 3,5 Dollar per day where you can park your car. But your luggage needs to be pulled in the sand. Better you come with back bags. We have been there in a low season and it was quiet but I guess in the main season could be party time. Anyway it was a very nice beach with good food and some relaxing days. "
