San Miguel de Allende is a gorgeous town with friendly people. It is visually stunning. As a solo, female traveler I felt very safe walking around town. The food options are varied and super yummy. Great community! I visited during Santa Semana.

Great walking city. Late May there is a festival of some sort with a lot of fireworks through the day and night. Sometimes beginning at 5 am. Because of no AC and windows are open, it will wake you up.

Lovely, lovely town. Friendly people, patient drivers (no car horns beeping at pedestrians and no stop signs or traffic signals...amazing) Love the old colonial Mexican vibes.

San Miguel is one of my favorite places on earth. It's beautiful and calm, with lovely people and good food. Getting way too many Americans, but its building restrictions as a UNESCO World Heritage site means it retains its historic charms.
"I loved the customer service and the cleanliness of the room. The beds are very comfortable, which is truly appreciated. The hotel has all the amenities needed for a great stay. The only negative thing I would point out is that it takes a while to get your car back (20-30 minutes). Other than that, everything was great.
The location is excellent, just one block from the main square and the San Miguel parish church. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation. "
"Very nice and cute hotel. Very nicely kept together. My room was always cleaned and tidy. Staff very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely consider this hotel in the future."
