"We had a wonderful stay at Casaru Hotel. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, and the hotel was always spotless. Our room was cleaned daily, with crisp white sheets and towels and perfectly made beds. The building feels like a home converted into a small hotel, giving it a warm, cozy atmosphere.
Each room has its own bathroom and, while small, offers enough space for a comfortable stay. There’s also a rooftop terrace we didn’t get to use but looked inviting. We mostly used our room to sleep, as we spent our days exploring. Every afternoon when we returned, the room was already cleaned. The hotel felt very safe—doors are locked at 11 PM, but there is a doorbell and someone always came quickly to let us in.
Amenities are basic: no hair dryer (bring your own) and no fridge or microwave in the rooms. Guests can store food in the home’s refrigerator, but there’s no way to reheat it. There was a small misunderstanding when we arrived about using the kitchen, but the owner graciously allowed me to cook that evening since it was a mix-up, but I didn’t do so again out of respect for their space. Closet space had drawers but no hangers to iron clothes in advance.
The only things that would have made it a 5-star stay would be having morning coffee available and a microwave in the lobby area for guest use. Overall, Casaru Hotel is clean, safe, and welcoming—perfect for travelers exploring Oaxaca who want comfort on a budget."
