The villa itself is a historic home and the family offered us the chance to read about its history, which made our stay even more memorable. "We arrived in heavy rain, and the owner, brought out broken umbrellas. He initially said we couldn’t drive up to drop off bags but allowed it in the end because of the weather. The property looked decent at first, but once inside our “best room,” the reality hit hard. The room stank of stale, dirty odours. The bathroom smelled like awful, persistent drain fumes—not just a normal toilet smell. The kettle was filthy, and the water came out cloudy—luckily, I noticed before drinking it....

"It's a clean hotel, with super friendly staff. The rooms are clean, but old. No bed bugs, no dirt, no hairs left or anything. The beds are a bit hard, but it's okay. It's roomy enough for a quick stay and there's enough space to use a computer and work. The hotel restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner is great. Overall, a very good option for the price. "

"Hotel was hard to drive to and it was so busy in the area we had to park very far away. It was all gravel and cobblestone to get our luggage to the hotel. There was nowhere in the front to park and unload. Hotel did not have lifts but very narrow, slanted stairs. Understandable as it is an older hotel. Rooms were old and small but clean enough with a beautiful view of the lake and castle . What made the hotel really stand out for us were the hosts. They were so extremely friendly and...
