We typically will rent a home, but this time around we stayed at the Breakers Inn and it was the best of both worlds. Nestled in the quaint town of Scarborough with the most beautiful beach. The Inn gives you the spoil of a hotel and the cozy comforts of a home. The hospitality from the staff was wonderful. Walks on the beach at low tide are relaxing. Our room was well appointed and the bed was comfy. We are looking forward to next year’s stay. Thank you!!

Forget Portland ME! Booked this place in the morning heading home after 7 days way up Down East. Decided to avoid the crowds & shopping, found this GEM right ON the ocean. So clean, so nice, so welcoming AND a super buffet breakfast in the morning. Sunrise, walking the beach, watching the surfers, it was wonderful. Heard the waves all night & it was glorious. And BYOB to Twin Lights Lobster Shack, only 12 minutes away. GO, You’ll not be disappointed.

Loved our entire experience and truly enjoyed the staff and property. Clean, bright, and decorated beautifully. Full of charm- we’ll be back! Excellent location right on the beach. Great coffee in the morning (locally roasted down the street - we bought a few bags to take home) and a cozy bar for a night cap while watching the sun set on the ocean. We slept with our windows open, listening to the waves. Best sleep I’ve had in months. Highly recommend!

The Breakers Inn is a perfect beach getaway. Everything is so thoughtfully designed for people who truly love spending time at the beach. From the little beach cart prepared for you with chairs and a cooler, to the water dispenser you can refill at your convenience, every detail has been carefully considered. The property is beautifully decorated, and the view is simply spectacular. My room was honestly one of the prettiest hotel rooms I’ve ever seen. You really feel the ocean and the beach throughout the entire property — it has such a wonderful sense of place. And the staff was exceptional: very kind, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. You feel taken care of without it ever feeling intrusive. I came for a short beach escape, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I would absolutely come back. Hugo

Beautiful Inn with the perfect location! The staff was on the younger side and not particularly attentive (I.e. helpful). There was easy maintenance items overlooked such as replacing the commode insides to prevent water from running (parts looked ancient inside and an easy fix). Also, the bathroom was minuscule, as one might expect in this age of property, but the room was clean, comfortable and you couldn’t beat the view. All in all we’d stay again, thanks!

This hotel was amazing. You can’t beat the view and location. Right on the beach. Rooms 10, 1 and 2 have the best views. It’s just an inn, not a hotel, and there isn’t much by way of bar / restaurant nearby during the first half of the week, so plan accordingly. But Tuesday nights there is a free raw bar (!!) and every night a happy hour from 4-6. Just no dinner options or lunch. Coffee and muffins every morning. The best part is they give you a beach wagon with everything you’d need for a day on the sand. I’ll be coming back again!
