If you are into minimalist, industrial, modern architecture this is your place. My only two complaints are the lack of parking in the vicinity and the fact that the half shower panel means that your bathroom floor gets soaked. Other than those minor quibbles, this is an amazing, quiet, comfortable place to stay in Brooklyn. I’ll be staying here again.

Sela V is a gorgeous hotel with the most incredible staff! Everyone was so kind, helpful and polite. I stayed in the 4 bed bunk room which was nice to have as everyone was able to have their own space in the hotel. The decor is great and really fits the industrial theme. I won’t say cons but room for improvement. Due to the industrial vibe of the hotel (lots of concrete, the WiFi and cell services is spotty. Please try to use an extender or have more routers in the hallways. The staff- the bar and coffee guys are great. But there would only be one to service the entire place and so there were some pretty long waits. I know working through the kinks but maybe 2 bar tenders on the weekend. Anywho! I will go back because I think this will be a great hotel!

Though the room was quite large, it looked as if they forgot to finish and furnish it. The walls and ceiling were of concrete and were totally barren. There was a bed, a very small desk with chair, a mini fridge on the floor. There was no bureau or closet, just a wire structure with 4 hangers and 3 wire shelves. The room and bathroom were very dimly lit - too dim to even apply makeup. The bathroom had no vent so a hot shower steamed up the mirror. The elevators did not work properly so we had to walk to our 4th floor room. We never got maid service in our two night stay despite being out of the room all day. We received daily automated messages stating if there was anything management could do to make our stay more enjoyable we need only ask but I never received a response from my messages back. The location was good for us and the staff at the desk was friendly but we will not stay there again.

I want to start by saying it wasn’t the entire staff. The staff during the day were very helpful and attentive. I was placed in a room where the AC wasn’t working. When i got in at 11pm i called the front desk and I was told someone would come up to fix the issue. I waited an hour and called back and got no answer the rest of the night. I was forced to sleep in the heat with my fiancee. The morning staff sent an engineer up and he couldn’t fix the issue . We were moved to a new room. All I received was an apology. i emailed the hotel personally about the issue with no response. I believe this is unacceptable. I paid for nights and received 1 comfortable night. I want to be reimbursed or deducted for 1 night.

Sela V is a beautiful, clean, and spacious hotel. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only criticism is the location. We found that we were about a 20 minute walk from a subway station - but that was really on me for missing that detail while planning.

Location was not the greatest. Too far from public transportation. Found parking on the street easily. The resort fee, $32 a night, basically covered 2 bottles of water. The shower design was terrible. Open, allowing water to go all over the bathroom floor. No hair dryer, ironing board or iron in the room. Had to call down to the front desk for a hair dryer. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly.

This is a new hotel (they said 3 months old), but it is run really well already. The food choices are unique and delicious. The coffee is amazing as well. The rooms are large and let in lots of light. Overall a great find in Brooklyn. We will be back.

Room was spotless and extremely enjoyed the private Terrace available with my room selection. Staff was extremely courteous from check in, to checking on me during stay and also hand delivered my DoorDash order without prompting. Love the layout and decor. Some original period pieces are retained and matched with new giving it a retro/modern vibe. It is obvious that this team has a vision and is successfully executing against it led by customer service. A restaurant within is on the horizon at some point but, the bar and continental Breakfast offerings ample for now. This is my new go to spot when visiting NYC!
