Room was pretty big, clean and breakfast was delicious with lots of variety to choose from. Couple issues we encountered was our room phone wasn’t working and we asked to get it fixed multiple times and it never worked. We had to keep going downstairs to request taxis and towels. Another issue was not having enough towels. It would have been nice to have at least 4 bath towels and couple extra of the smaller ones. We had to keep asking for more towels. The lighting in the room wasn’t very good either. There’s not enough room in the restroom to put your toiletries and room to get ready.

Please, please!! Stay away from this hotel! The name “boutique” hotel is an eye catching name inspiring uniqueness, top of the line, attention to details, and overall a guaranteed formidable place!! NON OF THAT!! They promised me a shuttle to pick me up at the airport for 2.5 times the cost of a taxi. They sent me an unmarked taxi that they called for me!! They called it the “service provided”. Lunch with my friend, we ordered 2 salmon plates. Unbeatable! The salmon was clearly old! They didn’t charge me though! I had a reservation for 9 days, one! 1 coat hanger!! No dresser, no drawers or anything else available. All my clothes were on the extra sofa bed in the room. After requesting more hangers, they brought 6 or 7 more. Obviously someone had not done their homework. When I received the reservation confirmation, I called and asked if I could bring my Colombian girlfriend and Spanish teacher over, and they said yes, no problem. When she arrived, they asked me an additional 2/3 of the cost of the room to allow her to come to my room. When I disputed that charge, this desk girl would not let me put in a word until I got so frustrated that I unfortunately raised my voice. She took it as me disrespecting her even though I told her multiple times that I had nothing against her personally! SHE THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME!!! The day after, I called my Italian/Colombian friend and attorney at Law and explained to her what had happened and after talking to the manager of th

Not hot water in Bathroom sink or shower! Tepid after minutes running! Hotel lobby is in the open air so in Cartagena it is hot &;humid. No roof in part of the lobby, so thunderstorms were interesting. Hotel was well maintained, clean and tidy. Except for hot water everything was in good working order. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK - eggs cooked to order My low rating is because of lack of hot water and open air lobby! Foolish in the tropics!

The AC for room 229 stop working on 2nd night, I barely sleep due to hot. The AC was Fan mode but not cooling. I reported to front desk but it was no fix, Hotel is nice and good location.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff is super friendly and attentive. My room and bathroom were clean and supplies were well stocked. I wish I remembered to pack a swimsuit to hop in the pool but next time. Felt safe and quiet in the hotel. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

I had a wonderful stay at Madison Boutique Hotel in Cartagena! The service was truly excellent — everyone went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. A special thank you to Maria, the amazing concierge, and the front desk team Milly, Miguel, Raimary, and Juan for always greeting me with a smile and helping with anything I needed. The bellmen Mr. Carlos, Frank, Mr. Damar, and a few others whose names escaped me were also so kind and attentive. The hotel was clean, cozy, and in a great location. The only thing missing was a washrag and an iron, but everything else was perfect. I would happily return on my next visit to Cartagena.

This place is nice however, so many issues with the key card. Such a large portion of our trip was spent at the front desk having to get back access to our rooms because the key cards would stop working. It was such an inconvenience, and no one ever apologized or gave a reason why this issue kept recurring. Additionally, the TV in our room didn't work. We had someone come try to fix it but gave up and there was no follow up or credit provided for the issue with the room. Overall, the place is nice and the breakfast is good but the customer service is not the best and any issues that arise during your stay will likely not be fixed or any accommodation offered. Very disappointed
