Beautiful property, feels unreal, my only disappointment was they got water from the shower, works for 1 minute and doesn’t work again.. breakfast was lovely, feels like the garden of Eden.

Kai Zanzibar is a beautiful property with stunning accommodation and an excellent breakfast each morning. The local staff were warm, welcoming, and worked incredibly hard to make our stay enjoyable. Unfortunately, a few things let it down. We were surprised to find that no alcohol is served, and we found the dinner menu expensive for the quality. The coffee machine was also out of service for our entire stay. There was also quite a lot of noise from around 5am each morning, which made it difficult to sleep. The overall atmosphere also wasn’t quite what we had expected. Although the management team were often around the property, there was very little interaction with guests, and we witnessed a few occasions where members of management spoke to the local staff in a way that left us feeling uncomfortable. The property itself is beautiful, and the local staff are a real credit to the hotel. While there were many positives to our stay, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations.

Very nice new hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our trip around the island. The hotel is decorated really well and is very aesthetic which gives a good Zanzibar vibe. Nungwi beach is only a 5 minute walk BUT we personally preferred Kendwa beach but this is a 15 minute taxi trip. Rooms are clean and modern with great interior deco. All the staff were friendly and very helpful especially Nusra, she was amazing. We did have few minor issues during our stay but management was quick to resolve it. On our last day after we checked out, we headed out to the beach. The hotel stored our bags for us and when we returned from the beach to collect our suitcases they had a spare room which they let us use to shower and freshen up before heading to the airport which was very kind.
