Worst hotel and experience I’ve ever had. Checking in had to be the slowest process a hotel can possibly muster…a number of people “working” either chatting with friends or mysteriously doing something else. Took us over an hour to check in. Then of course they want to sell sell sell and it’s all about consumerism. Food quality was sub par, at best. It’s disgusting to be honest - I wouldn’t come anywhere near this hotel again if you paid me. UPDATE: the rest of the stay remained the same despite the hotel staff upgrading us to Privilege due to our complaint. The room itself was ok but despite being a new hotel, the bathroom door didn’t close properly, the light in the closet flickered and the door to the room didn’t lock (this last one was later fixed). But the worst was what happened while leaving the hotel! Even though the staff that took a couple hours to check us in when we arrived charged us to the environmental tax, they tried to charge us again while checking out. We showed them that it had been deducted from our bank account but they refused to accept their own issue and threatened to not let us leave the hotel unless we paid them again - and then told us that we can then later file a complaint and ask for a refund! As if that would ever happen based on the incompetence they displayed while we were there, let alone what would happen if we now have to chase them all the way from London. The were rude and aggressive and honestly NO ONE SHOULD STAY IN THIS HOTEL EVER.

Theoretisch 5 Sterne Hotel, praktisch eher 3-4. Alle 4 Laufbänder im Gym kaputt (nur gehen möglich). keine Wasserflaschen erhältlich im ganzen Hotel (man bekommt nur im Zimmer 2pro Tag und dann bekommt man nach Anfrage Gläser mit 200ml). Alle Restaurants mit extrem eingeschränkter oder keine Kapazität in der Terrasse (man muss fast immer drinnen unter der Klimaanlage essen). Man wird gefragt 20mal wegen Allergien aber das Personal hat keine Ahnung was die Zutaten der Speisen sind (nicht mal im Frühstück angeschrieben). Vegan schwierig.

My wife and I travelled to Mexico from the UK and spent 12 days on holiday at this resort. We had a wonderful time. We did not pay to be privilege guests and this did not impact our holiday at all. The resort is adults only and we were so surprised at the wide range of ages at the resort and how well the hotel caters for different needs. The hotel has three pools. The first has more activities and music, which consistently had a large crowd and wide age range of guests. The second is a little quieter but used for aqua spinning and volleyball which again included a wide age range of guests. We hung around mostly by the lazy river and bar for the laughter as people floated around the gentle current and passed through man made waterfalls of cold water. Thanks to Carlos for bringing all our drinks with a smile. The variation was great for whatever mood or age. The resort has six restaurants. We heard moans from people about not everything being open every night and the buffet only being available for breakfast and lunch. We didn't find it an issue whatsoever, there is plenty to choose from, including for my wife who is gluten free. At every restaurant we were asked for dietary requirements and she was very well catered for. The hotel is beautifully decorated, our room was clean and well maintained. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a first floor pool view suite upon arrival. Lots of space and a huge comfy bed.

I had 2 bookings in total stayed 2 weeks. Despite the reviews this is not a proper 5 star resort. Many of the guests I spoke to, who also had a bad experience were 'bribed by room upgrades signing a document to say they wouldn't leave a bad review. If you are used to 5 star this is not it. There are not enough characters available to fully detail the ordeal at the hotel. I paid on arrival & was made to pay the booking & city tax separately meaning I had to tap my card 4 times, roughly £4k. The next day I was told I hadn't paid enough, and access to my room blocked at 10am, this was the morning after I arrived. I was then I was told I was overcharged & my card details requested for a refund. My assigned butler was not working the day I arrived. It took 3 days to get my welcome drink. My 1st evening there was no wifi in my room, to book dinner when your butler isn't available, which was often, you have to use the app which I couldn't without wifi. I called reception & I was told off for not contacting my butler. During my 2nd booking, I waited 1 hour for my luggage, I ended up getting it myself. The door didn't close properly, one evening I returned to an open room. Another night reception mistakenly called my room @1.30am waking me up. The tiling in the rooms is shocking, body matter stains on the back wall of the toilet. Sink also leaked. All while the hotel was only at 30% capacity. There's more but no space, in short - Stay at a Secrets resort if you want real 5 star.

Room was beautiful, beach was incredible, staff was friendly (shoutout to Samuel at the front desk and Christopher with Guest Services) and food was very good. Great vibe and it wasn’t super busy so it fit the bill for quiet and relaxing. Buffet was the highlight. Everything is new and the staff do everything they can to make your stay an exceptional one. We stayed 4 nights and it was the perfect getaway. I would love to visit again when the vegetation fills in more. Recommend!

Room was aesthetically pleasing, LOTS of mosquitoes. Notified staff of mosquitoes and painful, swollen mosquitoes on my face and arms - no action taken by the staff. Resort needs more entertainment and possible more staff. Restaurant waits were 1-2 hours with a reservation. Food was mediocre.

Room was clean, a few cosmetic things, but that had no effect on our stay. Pools were clean and plenty of space to accomodate everyone. Water temps were cool, but no different than any other resort we have stayed at in the winter. Food was good and service throughout the resort was excellent!

Resort is beautiful yet they have a LOT of kinks to work out in terms of service. Especially at the Privilege Level. Food was better in the restaurants. Beach was lovely and had no seaweed. I don't know if that's attributed to the location or the season. The resort is not too big and provided the quiet I needed. It was only at 65% capacity. The main buffet was just ok. I didn't receive a welcome gift or bottle and when I asked repeatedly nothing was done. So people were lovely but customer service needs to improve drastically if/when they raise prices.

The pool was too cold to use. The staff was very friendly. We did the privilege package and didn’t really think the services were very good. It took a long time to get drinks at the beach or the pool. Food was better than other all inclusive resorts. Beach was awesome!
