Take the buses. They are around $1 per trip. Much cheaper than the taxis. They are basically mini vans and they go all around the island.

Use bug off! Sand fleas or no seams love to jump on you from the sand causing itchy red bites. Stay on wood or stone patios and not on lounge chairs in sand.

Roatan is stunning and definitely worth the visit. Warm, calm water, not a crazy amount of vendors on the beach. Eldon's is the best grocery store I've seen in years with many unique food and alcohol items from around the world.

We really like West End, Roatan. This was our first trip. Food was expensive and serve wasn't that great. But food was good. Everything else we were very happy with. We will definitely go back.

The island is beautiful! However, one can see the poverty of the the locals which is difficult to witness.

Great diving, excellent weather, beautiful rustic views of the water.
"Very accommodating staff. My son broke his phone charger and the front desk (Jamie) lent him one for a few days. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. There is plenty of security up and down the beach and they ensure safety. The beach access and towel system are wonderful. Chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas are included and the security watch the belongings when you’re in the water. Excellent service and staff! "

"Hotel is excellent! Beautiful beach in front. Food was superb.
Only issue we had is that the second a la carte restaurant was closed the day we intended to go and they didn’t advise up front, had to repeat restaurant.
I liked it better when they had 3 dining options instead of 2"
"I really enjoyed the scuba diving experience offered. The dive areas were incredible and the dive staff (Christian, Sterling, Brian, etc.) made the experience even better. I had a nice clean, modest room with good Wi-Fi. The restaurant was good and again the staff were great. I would not hesitate to return and hope to again before high season. "
