Helpful staff. Free coffee in the front. Room was small for 3 people but the shower was very good with great water pressure. You have to be prepared that there is no elevator and no air conditioning. If you have a large heavy suitcase, you will likely not enjoy bringing it up the very narrow spiral staircase to your room. The hotel is also about 30 min walk up all the major sites. It’s fine if you want to head out all day but if you’re the type to go back to your room in the middle of the day, you might find that slightly annoying, unless you are prepared to bike or take public transportation. We are walkers so we walked back and forth but we were pretty exhausted at the end of the day.

We appreciated the location and convenience of Alp Hotel. The staff was cordial and knowledgeable. Our room was small but this was not a concern for us as we spent the days and evenings exploring Amsterdam. The room and bathroom were clean. Housekeeping was available for those that needed it. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Fantastic Amsterdam Experience

My girlfriend and I were only here for 1 night. Knowing that we would not be in the hotel room a lot, we wanted an authentic European experience. The rooms were quite small, but the staff and the location were excellent. The front desk recommended we take public transportation from the Schiphol airport and gave us all the information needed we needed to get there without a hitch. When we arrived, the staff provided valuable insights on where/how we could make the most of our limited time, including neighborhoods/restaurants/markets/tourist attractions. I needed to sign-in to a virtual meeting which I took in the communal back patio which was really quite nice and quiet. (Bonus points for having great Wi-Fi coverage there as well!) We will be back to Amsterdam in the near future and when we do, the Alp Hotel will definitely be on our list.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the balcony was a decent size. The staff were superb, very helpful with any questions we had about public transport etc and also gave good recommendations for nearby cafes/bars/coffeeshops as well. The hotel is in a great location with lots of nearby amenities and only a 20 minute tram to Centraal Station. Overall a wonderful stay, will definitely be back here next time I'm in Amsterdam.
