Nice hotel, but our toilet didn’t work for the first 24 hours or so. The staff was accommodating and did their best to fix it in a timely manner. A partial refund would have been welcomed since we had to use the downstairs bathroom and it was not an inexpensive room. Most of the staff were wonderful, including the bar tenders and front desk staff at check in. However, the person who made my breakfast and coffee was a little rude and seemed like it was an inconvenience that I wanted to order. I would give it another chance if some type of credit were offered for the broken facilities.

Puzzling
This is a beautiful, clean hotel with some of the most rude staff I have ever encountered. If you expect to meet people that care about your stay or even want to make eye contact with you, you will not find that here. It’s really very puzzling.

The parking situation was awful. There was no breakfast with the cost of the room. The procession the cafe in the lobby were laughable. A banana was $2. A slice of toast with avacado was $15. Ridiculous! The valet was drinking off Lee at the bar in the lobby as guests struggled with luggage and cars were deserted in the driveway so guests could not find out how to get a valet or parking. The servers in the cafe were rude and not helpful. The location is wonderful but not worth all the hassle and cost!

We checked it they gave us our room. First walking in. There was a musty smell. Place is old brushed it off. Walked over to the window to close the curtain. The floor was soaked. The ac unit leaked all over the floor. Called down to the desk they sent a women with towels. Said maintenance can look at it in the morning. Next day maintenance came. Cleaned it “fixed it ”. We left to get lunch came back to a horrible noise and the floor soaked again. So we checked out a day early. They were fully booked so no room switch was offered. All we got was a $30 valet fee taken off.

This was an overnight stopover on my way to Durham. I had valuable belongings in my vehicle that I had to park offsite at a parking garage. Although the hotel clerk said there were cameras in the garage, I wouldn’t be able to hear my car alarm if it went off. I used the room to clean up & within 20 mins decided to leave. I felt interrogated checking out even after I explained. The manager treated me like a child asking me why would I feel safer with my car parked on-site. He proceeded to say “you know you won’t receive a refund” I responded I understand & the room has been paid for & easily turned over to another paying guest. I am not a child, an adult older woman perhaps & couldn’t understand the interrogation. The hotel, although on the corner of a busy neighborhood was well appointed with guests in the lobby having cocktails. However, due to the level of disrespect I wouldn’t recommend it to any female travelers.

Wasn’t aware it was going to be $15 forced valet parking each night. But they had the vehicle within $10 of calling for it. The surrounding area is clean and the staff is friendly :) the bar is free too! Live Acoustic music!!
