Tulum's trendy Zona Hotelera neighbourhood is loved for its beaches and ruins, and visitors often enjoy its varied attractions, including Tulum Mayan Ruins and Tulum Beach.
Children and adults alike can have a thrilling day at Xel-Há Park, one of the top theme parks located 10.1 mi (16.2 km) from central Tulum. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here? If you have fun at Xel-Há Park, you'll love LabnaHa Ecopark Adventures and El Toh Ecopark, both located nearby.
If you're planning a bit of sightseeing during your trip, head to Tulum Mayan Ruins – just one of the landmarks located 2.3 mi (3.8 km) from central Tulum. Why not take a stroll along the beaches and watch the sunset while you're here?
Whether you want to hunt for sand dollars or smell the fresh air, Tulum Beach is a spot you might want to check out, located 4.6 mi (7.5 km) from central Tulum. Enjoy the sunset by the shore at Las Palmas Public Beach, Playa Paraiso and Playa Akun.
If a restful holiday is part of your travel plans, Playa Paraiso might be the perfect place to visit during your trip to Tulum. Wander the seaside in this relaxing area.
If a restful holiday is part of your travel plans, Soliman Bay might be the perfect place to visit during your trip to Tulum. Amble around this romantic area's seaside and enjoy its top-notch restaurants.
Explore ancient Mayan ruins perched dramatically on seaside cliffs overlooking the Caribbean's turquoise waters. Snorkel through vibrant coral reefs, then unwind at a beachfront yoga class or eco-chic resort.
Convenient destination in Mexico for travellers who don't speak Spanish, as most locals speak English. The infrastructure is well-developed and of good quality, ensuring a comfortable experience. However I think it may be somewhat too Americanized.

Tulum is beautiful! Give yourself time to rest and time to be adventurous/ tour the area. The food is great. I enjoyed the cenotes, the museum and the beach club. Make sure your internet works if that's important to you and have a great time!

Its an amazing place to visit and is still developing but it's history and lush areas are a must see. Their cenotes and ruins are a must when visiting. Everyone should book a tour, venture out to see the culture or visit their many beach clubs.

Tulum is growing fast but still a very new town. It isn't the slick cruise-ship tourist trap that Playa and Cancun are so don't expect anything fancy - lots of dirt roads. They do have lovely beach clubs and beautiful cenotes.

Tulum is very expensive overall, so bring a lot of pesos or USD, but beaches and the vibe ( not in the main town but on the beach in archeological zone (park Jaguar) and zona Hotelera) is special !

I loved the experience. Everyone is nice and makes you feel welcome and at home. The mosquitoes are terrible. Even though it may look unsafe I felt safe the entire time no matter where we walked and at night.

The taxi system price gauges without shame. For two women traveling together, it didn't feel safe or worth venturing outside of the beach strip at all (i.e; $40 USD for a one way trip 0.75 miles away). We will definitely be renting a car next time.

Tulum is definitely a tourist destination and a pricey. However, we found that all the street food was cheap and actually the best food we had the entire time we were there. I wish that is had not been so Americanized. American music everywhere.
"Great staff -- courteous, kind and attentive; very thoughtful with extra touches like birthday celebrations, towels, drinks and sunblock; shoutout to Andres and also the staff at Kengai and Arborlea for exceptional service. "
"Wonderful stay! Zero complaints and plan to return again and again! Beautiful, small apartment hotel close to the beach, 7-11 right down the road. Phase two going up right next door. Expect some construction noise during the day. A car is highly recommended (mine was essentially free with stay through Orbitz - I only paid for insurance). Room had everything I needed - stocked kitchen (only thing I would recommend is a microwave), gorgeous bathroom, plunge pool, comfy bed (I’d recommend a mattress protector) - just beautiful. Property is stunning and pool is warm and beautiful. Property communicated great through WhatsApp and sent recommendations for beach clubs, cenotes, etc. Tulum airport was a complete breeze - through customs in 10 minutes. Loved this stay. Thanks so much!"
"The Staff , was the most attentive, I’ve experienced in all my global travels. The Cenote, was beautiful, transformative, haha. The food , the room , jacuzzi were awesome as well . The one negative for me was the music , from surrounding properties, made it hard for me to sleep . My Partner had no issues , said she slept well. "
