The hotel is in an excellent location, very clean and well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. One thing to keep in mind is that there are quite a few stairs. You need to climb a fairly steep staircase to reach the lobby, and then additional stairs to get to the rooms. This wasn’t an inconvenience for me, but it is definitely something to consider if traveling with older adults or anyone with mobility issues. That said, the staff kindly helped us carry our luggage upstairs when we arrived, which we really appreciated. Breakfast had a very good selection and everything was delicious, and I also loved that coffee is available 24 hours a day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and had a great experience. I would definitely stay here again!

Disappointing experience despite a few positives We were quite shocked when we arrived and saw the seemingly never-ending, very steep and dirty staircase that we had to climb with our suitcases just to reach reception. After a long flight, this was certainly not the welcome we were expecting, especially as there is no elevator. We then had to carry our luggage up additional flights of stairs to reach our very small bedroom. Although the room was clean, it was definitely not what we expected from a room advertised as “Deluxe.” Unfortunately, the photos online did not reflect the reality of the hotel or the room at all. On the positive side, there were three things we really appreciated: the breakfast was good, the location in the Jordaan is fantastic, and the hotel was clean. Overall, however, the steep and dirty staircases, lack of elevator, very small room, and misleading photos made our stay less enjoyable than expected.

Location Location Location!! The key to this accomodation is Bob, Bob is a legend! Breakfast was fine, you get what you need to eat as you are at home! Room was small but fine and bed was super comfortable. All around Amsterdam it’s stairs so get used to it. Oh and they have cats, I am severely allergic and ended up with a puffy face/lips and have a sore on my lips now but would still stay again. Had a great time

I loved my stay at Hotel Clemens. The location is as good as it good. Just steps from the canals and the beautiful Jordaan neighborhood, and easy access to the Tram and Dam Square. The staff is kind and helpful and the breakfast is quite good. The hotel itself is inside a charming canal house with steep narrow stairs. The rooms are small but nice, and the lounge area is quite nice with a good view to the outside.

Be warned! When you arrive at the hotel and ring the bell you will be Shocked at the stairway. It is STEEP and Very Long. Do not book here unless you can climb very steep stairs, and one or two More flights to your room. They could not have been nicer and more helpful. Everything from dinner recommendations and reservations to a really nice breakfast. Great location but be aware of the steep stairs
