Booked a 2 night stay. Paid for parking and breakfast, when I checked I had been overcharged. The room was comfortable, pillows not so much!
Went for breakfast- self service, went to the tea and coffee station and it was covered in ants- I know in January, it was dirty, explained this to the waitress.
Went to get breakfast- no plates! When I asked for a plate, the waitress got some dinner plates and I said sorry I wanted a small plate, she got them out of the cupboard slammed them down and stormed off, saying that she was too busy!
The whole food area was dirty, dried on beans on the servery all the utensils had caked on food on them, the bacon was hard as nails… goodness knows how long it had been there and everything else was cold and inedible.
I had a piece of toast and that was it. I went to inform reception, they were polite, but unable to do anything as there was no manager on shift!
We didn’t have breakfast the 2nd morning, I couldn’t face eating there.
Still waiting to find out if we are going to be refunded, if not I paid £12 for a piece of toast.
There are very few places to park by the hotel and overnight parking is £14 per night.
Would I return? No, there are plenty of other hotels in the area that I am sure have a better standard of cleanliness
Also, I plugged the hair dryer in and when I switched it on the lights in the room were flicking!! There is only one mirror in the room that is on the back of the door, so nowhere to sit and do your hair or makeup
