The hotel is lovely, the roof garden is blissful with tremendous views of the Acropolis, the staff are wonderful. One glitch for us was that our room (D1) directly overlooked a pub/club 5yds away which made sleeping impossible until 1.30am. As we were shown to our room the apologies began about what to expect of the noise. After the second night out of five we said if we couldn’t be moved to a quieter room we would have to move hotels and we were moved to a room on the opposite side of the building, lovely and quiet. I empathise with the hotel with this problem, even though we knew it’s a city hotel, because the club arrived after the hotel opened.
On positive notes, there is no kitchen at the hotel so breakfast is delivered at your chosen time either to your room or the roof terrace in a wicker basket with lots of good quality food that you order the night before and it was not only ample but really tasty. Good Nespresso coffee machines both in the room and the roof terrace with capsules provided.
The hotel itself is proper urban chic, beautifully designed and a pleasure to be in.
The roof garden is a treasure in its own right.
This was a great base to walk all over the place from during our five days and we would happily stay again, room dependent.
Athens restaurants are gd value, do seek out Sisinely. We are proper foodies and we still ate there twice.
May is a lovely time in Athens, great temperatures.
