The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the hotel is close to Ste-Catherine, Gambetta, Quinconces, and all the great features of central Bordeaux. The room was modern for the most part, especially the bathroom. With my VIP status, I got a free drink, which was a minor perk but nice nonetheless on a hot summer day (I also appreciated the air conditioning for the same reason!).
Despite all the great things this hotel offers, I unfortunately can’t recommend it for two reasons:
Firstly, there was a very mild dank, musty smell that caused me to have allergies (sniffling, sneezing, coughing), and it always went away shortly after I left my hotel room. I assume it was from the stone walls.
Secondly, because the hotel was located right next to the tramway, I could feel and hear vibrations in my room every time the tram passed. I could’ve requested another room, but I was already on the fourth floor on the opposite side of the hotel, so any other room would probably have been worse.
Such a shame, considering how delightful the staff were and how perfect the neighbourhood is!
